Think test drives are allowed :innocent: intent to buy, honest.

Ooh, if only my numbers came up! Loving the dish on the minilites and even the fat tyres. If only... :sad1:

There was a MKII RS1800 up a while back, I had to be stopped from trying to remove my own kidney with a spoon.
-
The perfect opportunity to buy a trailer queens car and then actually use it and rag it then drive it past his house dirty.......... sideways
-
I know its nostalgic and it looks great but for £53K you could have a very nice Nissan GTR R35 and still have £15k left over :happy2:

Pristine :notworthy:
Used to have a MkII Saloon that my Grandad Customised, must be where I get it from  :driver:
-
That is awesome.
I knew a chap many years ago used to rally one in the classic rallies in South Africa. It was fitted with a Cosworth BDA engine, 1700cc I think. We drove it up to a Cars in the Park Show one year about 80kms away. Needless to say I needed new kidneys and new eardrums. But what an experience.

Irrespective of my age or yours, comparing the two is like comparing cheese and monkeys!!

This was listed a fortnight ago for a mere 45 grand. What I don't get is if it failed to sell at £45K why add another 8 thou onto the price?

A mere 45k, oh why didn't I see it then!!!!!! Don't get me wrong if I won the Euro Zillions I would buy it in a heartbeat but 45/53 does seem steep to me, rarity/desirability I suppose.
:happy2:
-
Give it a few days and they'll drop the price again. It was 50K before it was 45...
-
that is stunning :notworthy:

I hate to say it, but where I grew up in the sticks - we used to buy MKI/IIs for a couple of hundred out of the Loot and basically destroy them as pseudo-rally cars on the fields.
If only we knew then what we know now!!
-
We did the same but on the army ranges and across the stang which is a old rally track, the mk1 and mk2 escorts we destroyed would be worth a fortune
-
The price could be to do with the almost confirmed banning of 4wd in rallying in 2 yrs time
There are a lot of mk1 and 2's goin up in price over the last month or so

We used to to do the same with Fiesta XR2's (MKI and MKII's), used to buy them as stolen recovered or burnt out and make 2 of them to race around an 8 Acre field my mates Grandad gave him to play with :signLOL:
-
xr2 mk1 are worth a bit of money now--if only we knew then
