Title: Little Tappy Noise
Post by: VeeDubDan on May 14, 2009, 07:24:30 am
Thought I'd ask if anyone knows what the following might be and if it's normal.

Just after starting the car and driving off (maybe 30 secs to 2 mins) there is a faint "tappy" noise coming from behind the dash.  It sounds like someone tapping a pen or something similar.  It's about three or four taps then it stops, then it will do it again a couple more times.  It's very quiet, initially I thought it was just the keys rattling, but no.  It only happens in the first mile of driving.

I'm just curious as to what it is as I've not had the car that long to know.

Mine does the same, think its just the heaters adjusting,
Next time start your car with the heater off and see if it still happens.

Yeah its just the auto climate control flaps adjusting. Mine's done it since new.

Although I have read that some of them do go a little crazy and there is a warranty fix available...
