I have just got a mk5 gti and the last owner claimed it had been "superchipped" through a mate
With me never driving another gti I don't really know if there's any difference.
The map through a Mate bit doesn't really fill me with confidence and i am looking at getting a bluefin.
When it reads from my ecu will it just give me one of there maps after that? And will the previous map be wiped?
-
No it won't you would be best to get the map flashed back to a stock map somewhere and then load the Bluefin on
However you do know that Bluefin and Superchips are one and the same.

Yeah I know the bluefin is made by superchips
It's whether the car has actually been mapped or not before that I'm not 100% sure of
I'm tempted to fit a boost gauge to find out what it is boosting to

PM a member near you with VCDS. They can log block 115 and that will tell you what boost is being requested and produced.

could just have a split DV? As above get the car logged and check out.

I have spoke to super chips today.
They say that some people lock the ecu when they map the car so if that was the case I would have to return it to the place that mapped the car to reset it.
I have orderd a new Diverter valve from awesome gti an see if that makes any difference
