Title: Tdi 140 tuning advice
Post by: A1dan2.0tdisport on April 22, 2012, 08:08:46 pm
Hello all,

New to the forum and new to my golf mk5 tdi140 sport.

Got a little budget at the minute and want to have a bit of a advice session from some people on here as to what to do with my car power wise.

What's avaliable out there?

I will be looking at anything at the minute so any advise would be brilliant thanks chaps.

I live in the Sheffield area, but work in the armed forces and am based in portsmouth so any recommendations for companies near me would also be brilliant.

Thanks alot.. This is my car at the moment btw.

Thanks do you reccomend one of those tuning boxes that I know you can get for about £150, have many people used these and are they worth it or would you reccomend a proper rollers map?

Hello, Newbie here,

I have a 140 TDI golf, I have had a remap done by Angel tuning, on a independant roller as they did not have one the car is making 185BHP and about 290 torque. Made alot of difference.

I also have Front  GTI caliper carriers which allowed me to installed 312mm disks on front with EBC yellowstuff pads.

Definately reccomend a remap first off then?

Any other mods go well with the remap? Intercooler and such?

I also have on my 05  GT TDI

17" Classix X alloys

And with the help of these guys http://www.vwcruise.com/

Retrofitted Cruise control , Genuine VW parts
Genuine RCD 510 with canbus upgrade
Replaced my steering wheel with a Flat bottom R32/GTI one

I have changed the rear Bumper  valance to the GTI MK5 version so left with a gap where im hopefully getting a twin exit exhaust.

Hello mate,

Havent got any decent pics but im sure you know what a RCD510 looks like and the alloys  wheels are standard on the later spec GT tdi's.

The guys from VWcruise(happydayz) were happy to do to deals , there based out of luton but are mobile. Basic prices are on their website and have used them for work on my old MK4 TDI.  I do alot of miles a year so Cruise control was needed i missed alot not having.

Great thing about the RCD510 is that for little bit extra i got DAB radio aswell ( means i get better coverage of Talksport )  :happy2: I can also put shedload of tunes onto a fast SD card.
