Title: For any mk2 golf fans....
Post by: craigy123 on April 22, 2012, 10:00:47 pm
I spent my day today detailing this for a mate, it had a full re-spray a couple of years ago and has just had pretty much a full nut and bolt rebuild with everything powder coated. The interior has just been re-trimmed as well, with a few sets of rainbow interiors chopped up to re-trim the recaros, they are perfect  :notworthy:

The car......

You could eat your dinner off of any part of this car. It's far from a standard motor either

The owner won't do a build thread either, it would be HHUUUUGEE! Some amount of effort, time and money has gone into this car

I hope to own a Mk2 GTI when I've got the funds and if it ends up half as clean as this I'll be very happy!

The owner got the 16v plus badge made as a wee quirky thing. Suits it well I think. Mk3 16v tall block with GTi engineering head and lots more

Wow! I think the word 'clean' gets used waaay to often but you can tell from the photos the time and dedication gone into this car, what a stunner. 'Pristine' fits the bill! Well done that man! :congrats:

Andy

He now lives in Australia and sold his Mk2. It was an edition one G60 converted to right hand drive running a high powered 20v turbo

He broke it and sold it in bits, it would of killed him to see anyone or hear of anyone else driving it.

I'll need to show my mate the comments, he will be well chuffed. Will be ate area shows this year. Everything on it is VW parts, he's done everything right and not cut any corners. The prices for some of the parts is crazy!!

  :congrats:
I used to own a white mordor MK2 GTI 8v...was the last car I owned that put as biga grin on my face as the MK5 does now.
So,hiho, hiho off to pistonheads i go.....

Plus,I've never seen those wheels before, but I reckon they look waaay better than the obligatory BBS fare and really suit the car. :happy2:

There's not one. I'm trying to talk him into it. Parts are crazy prices. Everything he has got for it is genuine parts and most brand new! It's an awesome car

The attention to detail on it is frightening.

Hard to say really, think he has had it 3 years max. And it's only off the road in winter, he's done a lot to it since November.
