Went out with my mate in his 07 plate k03 GTI with factory Xenons yesterday and noticed that when he flashes his hi beams the Xenon shutter also flashes too. Very cool feature and I've noticed it on other cars with factory Xenons or Bi-Xenons.
My Xenons however were retrofitted using the Kufatec adapters and I've noticed that only the yellow hi-beam bulbs flash when I either pull the indicator stalk towards me to flash the beam, or push it away from me to apply the hi beam. There appears to be no Xenon activity at all when beaming.
Is this because the Kufatec leads don't support this function, or have I missed a check box in VCDS (which I've got)?
Only took me two years to notice
Thanks.

its the adaptors you are using mate, i got a set and have 2 iirc extra long wires that i have to connect into the CECM to give the bi xenon flash, worth doing tho

I have exactly the same issue. Where can we source the adapters from as I recieved mine with the kufatec levelling kit

see here for info:

Buy a repair wire from VW, and connect pin 11 on each headlight adaptor loom to the cecm, A5 and D6.
I think you will need a high line cecm for this.
Cecm is next to fuse box.
I'll dig out the part no of repair wire.

Ah, so it is indeed extra wiring.
Is there an aftermarket adaptor out there that takes care of it 'neatly'?

If I have factory Bi xenons is it possible to activate with VCDS?

If the Wire is in place and you have high line cecm (central Electrics control module) then you can activate in vcds.
If factory fitted would they not be activated all ready?

Look on kufatec.co.uk website, they do a loom with the extra wire fitted for you to run to cecm.
