I'm looking to swap my glovebox door as it has some damage. Now I have done a search regarding the removal but it seems I will need to disconnect the passenger airbag connection, however will this not throw up a fault code & stop it from working correctly? Some posts mention removing the battery but I dont want to loose my revo settings.

when i changed my seats over i just made sure i didn't turn the ignition on before they were swapped over so the car never realised that the airbags were disconnected and same when i changed my steering wheel over had no problems. but when i took the seats out a while ago i turned the ignition on without thinking and the airbag warning came on so i presume so long as you leave it off you should be fine! if it does come on i just took the car to a local VW specialist (non dealer) and they deleted the fault code for a fiver, dealer wanted £80 :surprised:

I swapped out my glovebox last week. Pretty sure I turned the passenger airbag off by the switch, did the unplug/swap, then re-activated the switch before turning on the ignition and had no fault come up.

Where is the switch located?

It's the big one inside the glove box, top right

Thanks

I didn't disconnect the battery or switch the passenger airbag off when I changed my glovebox & didn't get any fault codes

+1 - No problems with mine either when I swapped mine!

As long as you don't turn the ignition on when the plug is off then you won't log a fault.
