Title: got my rotary out on the missus clio.......
Post by: heavyd on April 28, 2012, 04:25:22 pm
Oh well, I decide to give her car a once over.
The main aim was to get rid of some nasty scratches that had appeared and the swirl marks.
Gave it the usual snow foaming
washed with AG shampoo
used G101 on the rubbers
clayed with Megiars clay that I had left lying around
this was just off the bonnet

I have a porter cable with loads of pads, but since I hate her car, I chose my silverline rotary, used an old megiars polishing pad and a sonus green pad as this car doesnt get any special treatment  I had some old 3M finesse it 13084 polish lying around as it didnt deserve my Menzerna

The car had a few nasty scratches to tackle

Had some nice swirls on the bonnet and fender

I did the old tape up the middle with this to show half of it corrected ( halfway up horizontal line)

Finished car topped with Auto finesse Tripple and a coat of Tough coat

This side of the car I put some Auto finesse desire on top of the Tough coat just so see how well it reacts to the rain in comparison next week

I know the wheels arent that clean, but wasnt going to waste any of my iron X on this car! even found an old bottle of 'Armour all'  in the shed which I used on the tyres and plastics, and quite suprisingly they came out quite well with it.
Used meguiars glass cleamer on the windows as I bough a gallon of it, and the bottle just wont go down :happy2:
Overall I was impressed with the end result, and the renault paint is  much nicer to work with than the VW stuff :happy2:
