Hazzy Dayz offer a repair service which claims to require a new screen -

Maybe it's not just the screen. Randomly pressing the blank screen suggests the touch screen isn't working either and every now and again it sounds like it tries to eject a CD but can't (do they always do that ?)

I've emailed happydays and am thinking about replacing the LCD myself.

Try pressing SETUP Eject and the button to the side of it and see what happens?? It's a forced firmware reboot if it goes black then the boot screen with red lines top and bottom I would try a firmware update.

hi thanks Darren I tryed this to today the screen when black twice but I didn't see any boot screen or red lines. I've been told by hazzy dayz that it's the facsia board the one on the back of the screen. do you know how much they are and we're to get 1 from?

Thanks for your help Darren

My RNS510 CD drive has now thrown a fault.  Sounds like it tries to eject the CD but can't.  Do the units that get bricked turn up for sale ?  Seems a version B with a borken motherboard would allow me to grab all the bits I need.

6 weeks later and the screen is back ! Havn't touched anything and it started working again. The cd fault was me not assembling in correctly when I wiggled the cable. So it all works again. Hope it lasts.
