Hello just bought my 05 gti yesterday! moved across from a TT 225
the golf is brilliant.
I was just wandering what mods to do first. my car is lucky enough to have a miltek exhaust (resonated).
I would like to get the rear valance painted, is it best to buy a fibreglass replica or to paint the one currently on the car

Good Choice! Welcome to the forum.

Not sure about the bumper but, I'd say if you've already got the Miltek go for the forge recirculation valve and Revo stage 1 map makes a hell of a difference!!

can you recommend a decent air filter?

I run the Carbonio intake which is ment to accelerate the air and give a 50% increase in airflow, I have also heard that the Forge twintake is pretty good to.

heres a link with a few options

Thanks i had a look at that yesterday infact, will probably purchase one on weds. I was reading up about a high pitch whine associated with this air filter, have you suffered from that with yours?

I've had it on my car for 2 years and have never noticed any sort of a whine or heard about it. So not sure about that one, might be worth seeing if anyone else on the forum has had that noise!
