I'm looking for a cat back 3" exhaust that is quiet and gives me no drone in the cabin when driving round town and when cruising at motorway speeds. If it sounds nice when you press the loud pedal that's a bonus. The only thing I can find is the APR RSC that claims no drone in the cabin.
Can anyone confirm from 1st hand experience if this is the case as I want the full 3" flow but without the cabin drone that usually comes with it?
Also any idea where I can get the best deal on one in the UK?
Thanks

Hi, you could consider the BCS system, went out for a test drive in their demo car and can confirm it did not drone at 80mph, I am booked in to have full TBE system with Valvetronic next week, my main thing was not too loud pottering about and no drone, but sporty on WOT.
APR systems are all pretty much priced identically wherever you buy I think, you might save £10 here of there, but its one of the most expensive out there.

I had a quick look at APR but price was to much so
I got myself a blueflame cause it had the same setup but without the price tag.
I drive the car everyday on and off motorway no boom or drone as all
My dsg burps sound awesome as well when you accelerate hard it pops and blips before and after gear change :driver:

Nige (who owns BCS) used to own Blueflame, the BCS systems are an updated/more developed version of the current blueflame system, but Blueflame dont offer the powervalve version as its a BCS only development.

Sorry guys, I should have mentioned I already have a BCS system.
I probably haven't looked hard enough but I can't seem to find much on the pricing apart from in the US where they seem to have a sale on. I checked Awesome gti's website but couldn't even find it as a product.

I know it's slightly different but when running the APR RSC on mine with the Stage 3 turbo it droned at Motorway speeds.
I now have a full 3" Milltek prototype system with an active valve and it works exactly as you describe

i have APR RSC with stage 2+ revo on edition 30.... little or no drone on motorway or at low speed. however on WOT the exahust sounds amazing. and the dsg gives a lovely burp after gear change.

That’s pretty much my setup. How do you find cabin noise compared to stock, flooring it or driving normally?
The only thing I don’t like about the RSC is the backbox hanging a bit low, but if it gives me quiet in the cabin that is something I can live with.

How are you finding the Milltek when it comes to cabin noise in comparison to the RSC?

With the valve shut like it's like OEM noise levels at cursing speeds, with it open there is a deeper more noticeable sound :happy2:

i have the forge twintake as well as the APR RSC , and honestly on motorway cruising at 70 the intake is louder than the exhaust - just hear the drawing in of air, and i can barely hear the exhaust in the cabin.
compared to stock it is very similar at normal speed.
however flooring it is a different balll game - my boss at work thought i was driving an r32 when he heard me drive by at speed one day. it is pretty loud in the high revs but sounds amazing. people will hear you coming if you are flooring it.
highly recommend WOT in a tunnel with windows down.

I would have thought a resonated Milltek would fit the bill. :happy2:

3" downpipe, stock cat back and an induction kit will give you all the engine note you need. Much deeper burble than stock, but not loud with it. The Cat Back ruined my setup IMO

Isn't a res milltek quieter than OEM?
