Title: power loss between dsg gear changes.
Post by: chopper on April 29, 2012, 06:47:46 pm
ive recently installed a APR HPFP and forge twintercooler and changed from bluefinstage 2 to REVO stage 2+ with revo Stage 2 DSG.
i notice when accelerating in (D) drive mode, immediately after a gear change i seem to lose power for a few seconds then the revs come back in again until the next gear change, and the same happens again. it just doesnt feel as smooth between gear changes as had been when stock, its almost as if the boost is cut. im running b6/t4/f5 on 97 ron.
also sometimes on hard acceleration the engine seems to rev wildly without any control.
Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas what might be up?

Does this happen when your just "pottering" around in D?? As opposed to giving it some beans?

not as noticeable when pottering but im aware of it but most definitely when giving it the beans. some times its almost as if power cuts out, then suddenly comes back in .

i have already changed divertor valve to rev D, and i have a new DSG mechatronic unit. might it be a PCV problem?

and i have a new DSG mechatronic unit.

May be worth doing a basic settings followed by the Defined Test Drive as more than likely your dealer didn't do them.  http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/6-Speed_Direct_Shift_Gearbox_(DSG/02E)

I had / have a similar issue after my remap. Its been partly cured by a new fuel filter and new N75 valve but its still there and i need ot get back in touch with the tuners to arrange getting it sorted properly.

does sound similar, but i havent found anyone on here with a revo stage 2+ having a similar problem.
i have seen this thread

which sounds similar too, and i have noticed my mpgs are lower than normal. no obvious change at idle.
im going to pull the pcv out to take a look now.
its quite frustrating as the car drives so well 95% of time in manual , but D mode just doesnt feel right...
