Cant stand either team but would rather have a proper club win it than money bags city any day, that goes for chavski aswell!

Corrected that for you :happy2:, being United through and through (and I am actually from Manchester too!) I would gladly take a draw (which is all we are likely to need as cant see us losing both remaining fixtures) altho a win would shut the "Citeh" up, just hope we can score 1 offside goal before they get a man sent off so we can score another 5 (No i'm really not bitter) :signLOL:
I don't hate Man sh*tteh, just dont like how they get away with blatantly breaking the financial rules (Maybe Uefa will actually go by the rules and kick em out of Europe, but I suspect they will just re-name the car park "The Etihad car park" for around £350m , dont hate any teams really except Liverpool and Leeds (Liverpool as all my mates at school supported Liverpool coz they won all the time and Leeds as its yorkshire and they were dirty bas.... when they were in the Prem (if they remember that far back :happy2:)

Whats with the hostility from yorkshire? Not like were rivals anymore is it? Hell no! Your boys are hovering around championship no mans land proping up the 'good' teams from the relegation lot :P
Spot on Tamiyoman! Id take that all day. Theyve got a trip the toon yet aswell. Not a nice place these days.

Just to upset all the United fans will be worth 8 months of wait, although a lot of United fans I speak to are sh**ing themselves for tonight
And I watch and actively support real football before anyone guesses my loyalties. None of this properly televised overpaid sh**e  :P

Well neither myself or any of my mates are crapping it, like I said I am not a city hater, if they win tonight and go onto win the league good for them, for them money they spent in lat 3 years its overdue :happy2:.

U can stick ur white rose up your hoop lads, its Red Rose all the way :P
Being from Saddleworth there is lots of White vs Red Rose debating on a regular basis!
There is a Pub in the next village that "Proudly" displays the white rose on its frontage, even tho the village has not been in yorkshire since 1972 :signLOL:

Why do Man U fans always feel the need to qualify their fan status? It's always "red through and through", or "lifetime fan"...

But you forgot the "My nan once got a bit of the Manchester Evening News paper with her fish and chips so i'm from Manchester"
-
Why do Man U fans always feel the need to qualify their fan status? It's always "red through and through", or "lifetime fan"...
Generally because everyone assumes as a United supporter your from London or a "Glory Seeker", best to nip it in the bud.
If you want me to quantify it further (i am sure you don't but I will anyway) my mum used to work for United, she was one of the merchandising sales reps (getting shops to stock united merchandise), she remembers 2 of the managers previous to Sir Alex (Sexton and Atkinson) and she spoke fondly of Big Ron :happy2:, she left when they were asking her to travel overseas to promote the club more, she had 2 young kids to look after!. So from being 4 or 5 when she started working there I was always a United fan (annoyingley for my father who is from London and a huge Arsenal fan! :signLOL:)
So yes While at school I suffered greatly with most of my friends being either Tottenham or Liverpool fans (even tho we lived in Manchester!), but from being 18/19 we suffered no more! and it was their turn :signLOL:
Steppin off me soapbox now.
P.S. if we win you wont see me gloat, if we lose you wont see me hide, may the best team win (The League) :happy2:
-
are wel seen as your a life long fan and not a glory supporter then thats good enough fo me :happy2:
-
Why do Man U fans always feel the need to qualify their fan status? It's always "red through and through", or "lifetime fan"...
Im not qualifying anything. Alls i know is i supported em before the days of glory and i was born, bred and raised in manchester. I have 2 season tickets so no arm chair for me and i dont decide to suddenly support them when some tosser spends his pocket money on them.
I can hold my head high and proud of bein a supporter of a club that hasnt bought their way to a title. Chelski had a bent rusky n now city av the towel head.
They can make as much noise as they like cos give it a few years n the sheikh will get bored of his new toy.

Can't stand either team BUT will be going for United, simply hate City more and that w**ker Balotelli in particular.

Ho, ho, ho, what a time to score.

Its always good to score just before half time, wonder if the Italian coach will tru to hold the lead like so many time before and let it slip, we are only half way through.

And I wonder how many United fans will be cheering Liverpool on in the FA Cup Final on Sunday as we go for our second major trophy of the season?

Harry looks like that because he had a terrible car crash at Italia 90, also the cause of his facial tic.

very quiet from the united fans
but if im been honest city still have it all to do in my eyes and im in favor of them doing it, not over yet by a long stretch but hope they hold out
no one can deny city were the better team

Results have been terrible in the league, granted, but it takes a long time to build a top side, and from where we were when Kenny took over, things are on the up. The performances in the league have not reflected in results, and in Gerrard and Suarez, with two or 3 more world class signings, Liverpool will be a far stronger force in the league next year. And I'm sorry, but there's not a club in the country that wouldn't love the cup double!!

More chance of platting p*ss mate! Liverpool are very very average team n only you blinkered scousers think otherwise. Theyd struggle to be a top 8 team these days nevermind 1 of the big 4 now + 5 wi the scum.
And as bein on the up? P-haaaaa What a jest.

I can't see Suarez staying at Liverpool, not just because of the evra incident but top players want to be playing in the champions league and fighting for titles.
And do you really think a top top player would turn down city, united, Chelsea etc and go to Liverpool? I don't think it's enough to be a big club anymore. I think players like nasri choosing city over united is a case in point.
-
Liverpool have haemorraged money on "world class" signings. Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson, Stuart Downing, all in excess of £20 million!!!
-

Nail, hit and head.... :happy2:
-
The thing is, the "Evra incident", and their poor league performance will totally over shadow everything. The Suarez/Evra spat in particular was a PR disaster. Liverpool attracted a new breed of haters, not because of what happened, but because of how they, and in particular Kenny, handled it. It was comical, cringe full, and disgusting.
-
Liverpool fan here... from leeds, so you wont be surprised to hear hahahahahahahahahaha man pooo! :signLOL: :signLOL:
-
I can't argue with the fact that Henderson, Adam and Downing in particular have been dire. Having Suarez out for so many games on top of Gerrard's injuries has hurt us, and Kenny is right in that we've drawn and lost many games where many chances were created, but not clinical enough in front of goal.
Anyway, It doesn't matter what I say, as Haters are gonna Hate!
-
Not being clinical in front of goal for me boils down to one thing... having that big lump carroll uf front when really you require a goal scorer. Someone with the natural ability and desire to put the ball in the back of the net. Very similar to Robbie fowler back in the day. Once this is addressed i do believe of the 31x we have hit the woodwork, many more would have gone in.
-
People forget that at Newcastle Andy Carroll was a very good player. He was completely unplayable leading the line and gave defences a torrid time. But at Liverpool you've got a player who has lost all confidence, and they're just not using his strengths at all (think Crouch at Stoke). We had our whole game plan revolve around him, but that's never going to happen at Liverpool, and he isn't a player who can adapt his style. That's not his fault and Kenny should have known that when they bought him.
You've also got to remember that it was really Chelsea who paid £35m for him.
I have a fair amount of sympathy for him to be honest, as do many NUFC fans.

Well done to City, from a United Fan, is the league over?, nope :happy2:, 2 more games yet, 2 more potential slip ups for City, Home against swansea and away against the second United Team in the league, think we will win those two, come on NEWCASTLE! :P

I agree Andrew, he needs to play every week, but to do that Liverpool would have to play to his style every week, and that's never gonna happen. He would be better at a different club. Buying him was a mistake. We should have held out for the rest of last season, and spent the money more wisely in the summer, and got a world-beater striker for 35m or less. Damian Comolli should have been shot for that one, let alone fired! The best Carroll will get is a super-sub role where he'd come on if the usual Liverpool style wasn't working. But he's not the only one to blame. Downing and Adam have been shocking in providing no service for him when he has played. They have both been such a dissapointment, although Downing is finding his feet now, and looks a lot more confident.
-
Erm can we keep this thread on track please. It is about laughing at United not reminding me of Liverpools woes. :P

The Issue Adam has is that he "WAS a Big player at a small club", now he is just "an average player at a small club" :signLOL:
Laugh at United all you like, remember Citeh led most of the season and slipped up, the season is not over, at least we have been in the title race for the last 20 years
-
Citeh deserved the win pretty much outclassing Utd in every department although didnt create much chances.
Also since whens the carling cup a major trophy??? The BIG teams use it for there bench warmers and promising young talent to get game time. Liverpool really are a poor side, RVP has scored more goals than there entire strike force put together :ashamed:
I would love Newcastle to beat spurs and chavski to fourth and hopefully qualify for the CL, although i think they would struggle to fight on all fronts next season if that were to happen. Not entirely sure how they have managed to get in contention for the CL mind.

I would love Newcastle to Beat Citeh :happy2: and hope that spurs get in CL as they played well last time out and have a team capable of doing well on the night, sorry to any Newcastle fans but I dont see them as anywhere near good enough for the CL (Yet), another season or two and one or two signings and they could do OK, if only someone in Africa would forward Ba's shooting boots on to him as he clearly left them there! :signLOL:

Genuine question though. I'm interested to know any Liverpool fans thoughts on finishing at the wrong end of the top 10... nothing at all to do with Newcastles overachievement this season.
-
Another genuine question, how long does dalgleish get if this form continues? Don't get me wrong, I'm completely against trigger happy chairman, it just seems like the people calling for hodgson's head can't keep quiet for too much longer.

I find myself asking 'should you really be kicking Liverpool when they are down' Newcastle a serial self harmer's and even i feel the pain you guys suffer year after year. MR Ashley is a Cnut! and will strip your team of it's asset's if you don't get 4th.
After all, it's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all. :P
On a seperate note, my works lap-top, spell checker always tries to change your name to undertaker.
-
Er, I wasn't "kicking them when they're down"... like I said, genuine question from a football fan who can't be the only one surprised at their league position. I take no pleasure from it.

People seem to forget that a year and a half ago Liverpool were in turmoil, Hicks and Gillett did their best to kill the club, and when Hodgson left we were fast approaching the relegation zone. Kenny turned things around in the second part of last season, but there's no denying it, this league campaign has been an absolute disaster. I blame Comolli, who has bullsh*tted his way into a number of similar jobs, and the acquisitions for which he has been responsible have been toilet in my opinion, other than Suarez and Enrique.
So I'm not sure Kenny is wholly responsible. With two more world class players including a world class goalscorer I think Liverpool will be a league force again, and in answering your question, I think he deserves at least another 18 months to turn things around and get Liverpoool back in the Champions League.

If only there were a few more supporters With this view :happy2:
Rather than calling for the managers head after a few games.

That man has done so much for the club and the city of Liverpool. He has an incredible football brain and I'm sure he will turn it around sooner than the Haters are predicting. It's the Liverpool way to give the man a fair chance. And no-one will ever forget how he personally attended every funeral of every victim of Hillsborough. It had a devstating affect on him, and it is so heartwarming to see him back at the helm. He deserves every success he has in this period of management.

I wouldnt get rid of kenny. As for liverpool league position... its not been good enough, as simple as that. He should however be given another season to help the team gel.
I would be very happy if Man city won the league and man poo ended up with nothing though :pomppomp:

Good news for Spurs fans that Roy Hodgson has been appointed the poison chalice that is the England Managers job. :happy2:
Oh and Fulham beating Liverpool 1-0 :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:
Gotta kick the scousers while they are down :P, they been shocking this season (and the last few were not too great either), I am sure with the right signings and leadership they can continue to be a top half of the table club :signLOL:

Looks like the reserves are playing, Quite a big game on Saturday

T.B.H I dont blame them, its all they are playing for, just hope Dempsey can get on the score sheet, he is in my Fantasy league team :happy2:
Oh and I shall be supporting Chelski come saturday :P cant possibly support Gerrard can I (Well on his own he is 80% of the quality in the team) :signLOL:

9 changes in all.., inc the keeper

Am so chuffed the FA went for Roy Hodgson, bloke has to be :stupid: to take that job! Maybe Spurs (my team) will finish off the season in style now and snatch 3rd. Can see Chelski winning the big one and nicking the final Champions Leauge spot off whoever finishes forth (if not them).
Don't give a toss about Liverpool but even I worry for them, god they were truly, truly s**t this evening. Maybe the B team but how the mighty have fallen. Can never see them ever winning the league again, bring back Hicks & Gillet I say!

Nothing for Liverpool to play for in the league other than pride.
We're already in the Uefa Cup and can possibly finish with 2 trophies in the cabinet - resting the 1st team was always on the cards. Saying that though, I wouldn't bet on Carroll playing against Chelsea, we may need his size and bulk to cause issues in the Chelsea defence.
Possibly 2 trophies more than Manure will get this season - and lets not forget how well Manure did when they were knocked out of the CL and couldn't even win a game against Athletic Bilbao in the Uefa Cup :signLOL:
YNWA!!!!

You really think with the premier league to play for that United gave a toss about the Uefa cup :signLOL:, with premiership and CL league football I am afraid the FA cup, Uefa cup and the toffee cup (Desperation cup :P) come 3rd, 4th and 5th in list of priorities, lets finish off by saying you actually gotta qualify for the champions league to actually get knocked out of it and we all know that 9th ain't gonna cut it :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:

Very pointless but funny thread
I don't really follow footy but this made me laugh the other day.... :ashamed:
The FA are to announce the award of a penalty to Man UTD at the start of each game for the 2012/13 season. This is to save the risk of injury to Young, Wellbeck, Rooney when they fling themselves to the ground in the proximity of an opponent. Of course the right of the ref to award further penalties to Man UTD during the game itself is not affected and remains at the discretion of Alex Ferguson.

Adam Johnson?!
One of the more honest top flight players around, not many left. He doesn't drop unless he's caught, which within the rules is a foul last time I checked :happy2:
Got a lot of time for him on all levels, especially after the Dale Roberts tragedy which was very close to home. I usually wouldn't give a f**k about a big team player being branded a diver but I think that's injustice.
He's one of the very few big names to pay any attention to lower league football - if he concudcted himself like a Suarez on the field I wouldn't even have begun to write this post.

Absolute snip at £9m.

Take that Chelsea. You're going to have to win that CL final now!
-
Apparently his 2nd goal was sublime - possible goal of the season. Recording the highlights at 1am on Sky to have a gander
-
Check it, amazing
-
So he mis-hits the ball and it goes in the net and that's goal of the season
-
I love how Ashley Cole goes on about it for ages!
And Carl, that was no mis-hit :notworthy:

Fook me what a strike!! :congrats: :notworthy:

fair play newcastle hope you come 4th; but gutted if chelski win cl final BUT if it means we beat them on sunday then lesser of two evils for us kopites
-
It sat up to be hit and there was a hint of "sod it, ill just smash it and see where it goes" but if messi did that the whole world would be talking about it by now. His reaction just after he hit it, then realised it went in says it all.
-
Suarez's hit from 45 yards to lob the keeper has got ot be goal of the season. He knew exactly what he was doing, and it had to be inch perfect to be on target and beat the keeper. Incredible goal in a wonderful hat-trick. Watch out Chavski!
Cisse's 9m shows what a terrible piece of business Carroll was for 35m. Comolli will be spinning pizza dough in his next job.
Oh, and +5 for a permanent football thread.

Good goal but no way goal of the season, still think that belongs to Crouch.
-
I didn't think the Crouch goal was that great. There was definitely a certain amount of luck to it. The Cisse goal was crazy. The bend, serve and dip was unbelievable.

Hang on, a minute, Crouch's was lucky?, one touch on the turn and it flies into top corner fro outside the box?, yet Cisse's goal was better as he just hit (and hoped) and it swerved in, at least I am being unbiased here voting for someone outside my own team :signLOL: :signLOL:

As i said earlier - Banana foot
