Title: Meguiars G220 brokey?
Post by: keano on May 01, 2012, 12:04:09 pm
Hello

The other day I was glazing using the DA G220 then suddenly it was stuck at full speed ( speed wheel didn't make a difference) and it smelt strongly of burning plastic.

Is it fubar'd or an easy fix. Anyone know?

Ps. It's 4 years old with very light use.

Is this the known bushes issue (I think it was bushes)?

We recently purchased a G220 and had a burning plastic smell and weird noise, didn't sound like it was oscillating smoothly. Tried changing the bush things but didn't fix it. They sent us another one in the end as something was definitely not right with it.

I've emailed meguairs.  :happy2:

To be fair. It is an old bit of kit. I just hope they can do something with it. :)

Just heard back from them....

"Good morning Nick

With reference to your email.

The machine comes with a 12 month warranty I'm afraid.

If your in the market for a new DA I'd recommend one of these. It's much smoother than our G220 and I find it's easier to hold too. I'm sure if you go direct to Dodo Juice you could get it cheaper too!  :happy2:
