Title: Engine Fault - Loss of Power < VIDEO
Post by: Johnny_tro on May 04, 2012, 10:38:24 pm
Right, having some power/accel issues..............

The car has NO power and seems to be LIMITED to 30k revs. The car will only rev to 30k in every gear! The highline is saying engine fault workshop! however when checked earlier VCDS did not display a fault. Here is a video hopefully you will get the idea.

Basically what is going on :(

Do some data logging pal, I would start with Hpfp fuel and the intank fuel.

Why ? As i had similar problems with my Golf , was like fuel cut and would cut power at around 3-4k

Perhaps the problem is trying to rev the engine over 30k, ie 30 000rpm and not 3k, ie 3 000rpm?

Has it not gone into limp mode?

I would data log the fuelin first to see if the specified nd the actual values are the same, youll have to do when moving of course right upto the point when it cuts out at 3k.

Its worth a try!

Right, had a scan yesterday and it is showing as a fault with the accel pedal. When you reset the code it's fine. When you drive off within 30 secs in locks down again.

Garage advise < replace accel pedal.
