Title: Headlight switch lighting and map light lighting not workign right
Post by: hunter2003k on May 07, 2012, 10:09:46 pm
Today i noticed that the red lighting on my headlight switch and on the courtisy/map lights goes off after a few seconds of being on, the lights all come on when i unlock the car and the auto headlights turn the lights on, they then go off when i start the car, if i turn the headlights off and back on again the lights come on and go out after a few seconds.

Can anyone shed some light on my problem?

thanks Dougie.

You have a faulty central electrics module. I've seen this quite a lot now if you have it scanned by someone with VCDS the fault will come up with something to do with the dimming circuit malfunction? The part number usually ends with a T something like 1K0 549 xxx T

The dealers charge around £250 for them plus labour to fit it at and hour so your talking near on £300

If you need a new one I have a spare but it's an high spec one for £80 posted.
