I have a golf 2.0 tdi just wondered what people would recommend as the best lowering springs to get? Any pics of how they sit with gti wheels on would be great too. Thanks Adam

use the search buddy this topics been covered a few times with a picture thread. :drinking:

I can recommend H&R springs. As said above, search button is your friend :happy2:
-
Eibach Sportlines or H&R's. There is a pic on our site of a GTI on sportlines

Obviously though you would want the kit for the 2.0 TDI

-
No...not at all for me :happy2:
-
That's good to hear what springs do you have?
-
H&R's 29176-1
-
Is that the part no? Lol for a 2.0 gt tdi 140 ?
-
Jumping on the thread now, i've seen some people stating they have 35mm H+R springs but the lowest i've seen for the GTI is 30mm,
I'm i missing something? :stupid:
-
i think maybe the gti springs are 30mm but the TDI ones are 35mm?

not sure on that as the cars looked like GTIs unless reps.
-
I'm hopefully going to get H&R ones fitted at the end of this month. I shall report back!!
-
there is potentially going to be a GB for H+R springs, have you bought yours already?

Not yet. I just had a quick look at the group buy section and couldn't see anything. I'd be very interested though!
-
Someone from www.autops.co.uk put out a feeler yesterday and said he would put a GB on today. :happy2:
-
+1 interested in the H&R GB.
-
+2 on the GB, could someone put a link to the GB in here once its up as i dont get much time to come on here and i dont want to miss it! cheers
-
Do the H&R sit lower than Eibach springs on the GTi?

Yes I think Eibach are 20/25mm and H&R are 30mm.

Sorry to jump on here....but how much would the ride be affected by lowering the car?
-
If you buy progressive springs the ride will be very much the same as the top of the spring is soft and the rest of the spring is hard (to reduce body roll etc). They only feel harsher on very bumpy roads.
I've got H&R springs BTW :innocent:

Right im going to go for some H&R springs. Are there different types of H&R springs? Im wanting to keep the comfy ride as much as possible and also wanting to go as low as possible!? Where do people usualy buy theirs from?

There is only one type of H&R springs for the GTI. Try Larkspeed - I got mine from there last year and were the cheapest
