Post by: nezquick on May 10, 2012, 01:45:27 pm
Having my coils done under warranty and asked them to quote me on fitting the revision d valve at the same time - iv changed two and am capable of doing it myswlf but wanted to save time etc and though if they do it for a tenner happy days... nooooope

this will make you laugh i was quoted 120 labour and they said it would take an hour.

iv changed mine in half without a ramp.. this is where vw are going wrong with their service.. 120£ to change a dv valve?!? I mean commmoon! How the hell did they come up with that gigure ill nwver know

Ha ha, I am at Jabbasport currently (free wifi  :happy2:) and they quoted me 10 mins to change the DV on my ED30 for the rev d, its being fitted now.

Just had the cam follower changed as well, it took the mechanic 20 mins might have been 25 mins max!

DV is in a different location on a K03 to the BYD engine/K04 on the edition 30 - but that price you have been quoted is ridiculous!

That is standard for main dealers. I work for a Peugeot dealer and any car that rolls in to the workshop is charged a min of a hours labour, do get a wash includes though

Makes me feel sick seeing some of the bills people get handed for work on cars that are not worth much more than the repair/service costs

.
I've never paid more than £50 per hour at my VW dealer's and often discounted to be less. The word "Loyalty" has been mentioned
