Thinking of getting some of these, anyone have experience of the Halfords Professional tools, or am I wasting my money. FWIW I thought they looked pretty good and this set is 1/2 price ATM.

i have had that kit for 3 years, it has been spot on, use it most days. All the bits i have broke they have replaced for free.

I have this. Very good value for money at 1/2 price. :happy2:

They always seem to be half price!
You get a lifetime guarantee with the professional stuff so if anything breaks just take it back to them for a replacement
Ratchet spanners are brilliant we have some at work and make life so much easier in Tight spaces

Thanks fellas for your first hand knowledge. Always good to hear from peeps with first hand experience. Will be investing in these puppies in the next couple of days. Just need to find something on the car that needs changing/replacing/removing to give them an outing!

I have a lot of the Halfords Pro range tools and they are brilliant. One of my Ratchets broke a few weeks ago. I took it to my local Halfrauds and they just swapped it there and then in the shop no questions asked.

A few of us stopped buying tools for work from the britool and snapon vans due to the amount of issues and have been using halfords pro stuff for a few years now with very little issues.
-
The ratchets mechanism are not covered by warranty, However some people get lucky and get a replacement!
The whole kit is very good though for the price :happy2:

I also use thier tools and can't fault them

You look through most build threads and there will be a halfords professional tool kit in the pic somewhere, great bit of kit for the money
-
Agreed. Very good tool set for the money. Had mine a looooong time and only ever had to have one part replaced...for free!
-
I've got a couple of their professional sets and can't fault it! Strong tools and all have a good weight and feel to them :)
-
Their Pro range is fairly good. I've had a couple of issues over the years with mainly the quarter inch ratchet and they have swapped it without any issues each time, just make sure you get the all metal version and not their new bigger plastic version. Yet to have a socket fail on me, the spanners are also pretty good. Not Snap-on standard but good for home use.

Great bit of kit!!..and a no brainer at that price. I would add a step-up converter for the smaller ratchet and a step-down for the bigger and perhaps add a larger torque wrench and then you have 99% of what you need for life.
