Title: Nearly Won the Lottery
Post by: garrardrj on May 13, 2012, 05:33:35 pm
Since the lottery started we have used the same numbers 01 05 18 21 23 and 33 . Sons Birthday,  Daughters , mine , wifes , our wedding anniversary and the number of our first house.
These are the numbers that came up yesterday !
Unfortunately we changed them to 01 05 18 21 22 23 ,  due to 22 being the day our dog was born ! It was about 3 years ago , so not a recent change THANK GOD

Still won about £1100 but about £3000000 would have been nice  :sad1:

That's the problem with having set numbers. If you don't play it one week or change them slightly and they come up, you kick yourself for not winning.

At least you got £1100, better than a kick in the teeth!  :happy2:

My mate's mum n dad won the lottery about 14 years back (6 million it was), unfortunately it turned out like most families with the added pressure of a lottery win, they ended up divorcing and one of their sons quit his job and turned into an alky and spunked all the cash his parents gave him (they gave both lads 1.5m each), the other lad (My mate) lost most of his 1.5m in a failed business venture and now only has a 2 bed terrace house left to show for it (No mortgage).

Yes it would be great to win and we think we are not those types of people but it adds a lot of pressure.

They were also "Disowned" by the rest of the family who feel they did not get "their" share (not that it was theirs anyway) as we all know you come into money and every family member comes out of the woodwork!!

Still a nice £1100 win for you tho, spend it wisely (half on your car and half on the missus)  :happy2:

Nice one. Be nice to have a windfall like that. Free money must feel good, only ever won £10 a few times, done it since the beginning using same numbers. Do it online so I don't have to remember. Let the modding begin!!

My friend won £4.5m in the first 1/2 years of the lottery. You would never know it though . Never had a new car and his present one is 7 years old !
Lives in a nice house in a nice area which is perhaps more important.

it would be nice to just be mortgage free and enjoy a couple of extra holidays. no need to go out and buy big as lets face it... even a couple of million doesnt get you too far these days
