Title: What needs changing regularly or at intervals?
Post by: xreyuk on May 13, 2012, 08:48:06 pm
Hey guys,

I'm just going through making a list so I can remember, what needs changing regularly at intervals to keep the car running at it's best?

I have a Seat Leon 1.6TDI CR Ecomotive and the only things I can think of are:

Cambelt + Coolant/Water pump (are these pumps the same thing, I've seen both referred to) - Every 4 years or 120,000miles (according to my book)
Brake Fluid - Every 2 years
Air Con Service - Every 2 years
Engine Coolant - Every 2 years
Brake Pads/Discs and Tyres - As required
Gearbox Oil - 100,000 miles

Oil, Oil Filter, Pollen Filter - Every Service (based on 10k miles servicing)
Air Filter, Fuel Filter - Every other service (based on 10k mile servicing, if I change to variable servicing should I do this every service?)

Anything I have missed, or you guys would recommend changing?

Thanks

Only OEM Cambelt/pump is charged for 120k. If not OEM, you should change it on 60-80k. For my safety, i do it on 60k.

Cheers.

It's currently OEM pumps, and all future ones will be. Thanks.
