Title: Muscle Fury Designer Whey
Post by: vRS_Pagey on May 15, 2012, 08:32:31 pm
Question is, has anyone used this protein shake? I am thinking of getting some and I was wondering how many servings you get from the 2.25kg tub. I can't seem to find the info I need on the site......  :sad1:

when it comes to Whey all you need is the one with the most protein and least rubbish in it. in this respect Reflex Instant Whey was independently tested a few years ago and found to have the highest protein content. it was like 98% or so. the chocolate one actually tastes nice as well. (i haven't tried the others as i like the chocolate one so much.)

a 2.25kg tub of the Reflex will give me 45 servings, but you can buy 2 from the Affordable Supplements website and get a free shaker. you get loyalty points too.  they've changed the offer now - it's a free shaker with every tub but they seem to have put the price up a bit so it's the same saving.

unless gram for gram the Muscle Fury one is cheaper i wouldn't consider it

the MF one comes highly recommended by a friend and the Gym I use, iirc it has 28g of protein in a 30g serving, I have tried it and it tastes lush too.  I will have a look in to the Reflex Instant though, thanks.

Check www.lamuscle.com

has to be one of the best & nicest, you can also get a sample pack of protein to try 1st, at a small cost.

Dolphin fitness.... Is usually one of the cheapest sites. Excellent company used em for years. Reflex is great stuff i sell it to my clients at the gym. Muscletech is also good but not the best tasting. CnP is awesome but veeery keenly priced and price is on par with maximuscle cyclone and promax extreme which have probs been my personal favourite but as i said quite a hefty price per kilo.

We once employed a lad straight out of University, and after a while realised that he really wasn't being very productive, so one evening we checked his email and discovered hundreds of emails to his mates talking about body building and loads of photos of him posing in front of his bedroom mirror. Funny thing is that he must have known we were on to him because the next day he never turned up for work and we never saw him again.

... that comment shows a total lack of understanding of human physiology. ever heard the nursery rhyme "little miss muffet"? if i recall correctly even she eats whey and aside from being scared off by a spider she didn't come to any harm. if little girls in nursery rhymes can handle it i'm sure a petrol drinking GTI enthusiast can.

Old myth.... In no way true. Its actually the testicles my friend. Well for 4-6 weeks anyway. The bodys natural testosterone shuts down as a result of the steroid taking over production. After that time the bodys receptors resume.

Rather than simply going for a Whey protein supplement, you will be better off getting a blended protein supplement such as the ones fro SCi MX and USN links below with details.  The amino acids in Whey protein, Soya and Egg are all different lengths and are absorbed by the gut at different points therefore you will increase the amount of protein your body can absorb in each serving, whereas a single protein source will absorb to a point and the rest will pass through your digestive tract.

http://www.usn.co.uk/product/Protein-Shakes-Meal-Replacements/Pure-Protein-IGF-1-1kg/32 (http://www.usn.co.uk/product/Protein-Shakes-Meal-Replacements/Pure-Protein-IGF-1-1kg/32)

http://www.sci-mx.co.uk/product-categories/protein-shakes/grs-5-protein-system/ (http://www.sci-mx.co.uk/product-categories/protein-shakes/grs-5-protein-system/)

In addition to taking a protein supplement you need to make sure you are eating plenty of fibre as this aids protein absorption and digestion.

whilst i've got no scientifically backed evidence to refute what you're saying (nor any to support my counterargument), on face value that couldn't be true.

for starters the whole point in taking whey is that it is the most easily digestible and absorbable protein the human body can handle. also your meals/shakes don't all end up in your intestine in one go. your stomach releases it slowly to maximise absorption anyway. more protein sat in your stomach = slower release of contents into the duodenum. (that last bit is scientific fact.)

Only healthy diet coupled with exercises will give sustainable results in the long term. I recommend fat free organic yoghurt with banana self made!

Its not just protein and a healthy diet that is essential in muscle growth and repair. Fibre, carbs. Amino acids and other odds n ends found in protein shakes are needed. Im not for 1 minute saying they are perfect in what they do but as an all in 1 supplement they save time, money and give indoubted results. At the end of the day the question asked was whether the product that had been recommended was adequate. By the replies the brand is pretty un heard of so other recommendations were made. As regards to rotting this that and the other its unfounded. My rule of thumb is you get what you pay for. Dont go on price per kilo go off reputation. If it was a mainstream brand id buy it if it generally unheard of id personally avoid it. Reflex micro way(higher protein content) or insta whey 909g in 5 flavours is around £17 on dolphin
fitness. Quality, taste and affordability. Cant go wrong

My point being only unprocessed healthy food will give your body what it needs, this stuff is heavilly processed in a factory as opposed to being grown...
Why don;t use real protein as meat and milk? For the sake of saving time it's not worth it as your body will be destroyed on the inside

Just my views as have been in this place so many times

I could equally argue that there are proven risks behind eating large quantities of meat and getting colorectal cancer and the fat in both meat and milk increasing your cholesterol and hence your risk of heart and liver disease.

There is no evidence anywhere that supports your claim that whey protein does any sort of long term damage.

seems to give results which dont fade when you stop using i.e. water retention/bulk

I hated cyclone. Made me really bloated. Used to love my maximuscle stuff though. Also used a MRP but can't recall where it was from - one of the lads I trained with spotted it as a bargain.

Remember, diet and training will only help you achieve your maximum genetic potential. If you weren't designed to be the Hulk, you will never achieve it (unless via illegal means).

Completely agree that supplements should be just that - supplements and not replacements to decent quality food.

I know lots of people who get good results with Cyclone, i've tried it twice and it just does not agree with me...............brown rain  :signLOL:
That's one of the thing i find interesting that what works for one person doesn't for another.

Agree with Stealth's comments too, need a good balanced diet and plenty of sleep too.
Title: Re: Muscle Fury Designer Whey
Post by: sub39h on May 17, 2012, 02:30:26 pm
my mate had wicked results with cyclone, but i tend to stay away from "all in one" stuff. reckon it was the creatine playing havoc with your systems, NOXplode does the same to me lol!

sleep is EVERYTHING when it comes to training - glutamine metabolism (glutamine being the amino acid that makes up 1/3 of your muscle protein) all happens when you're asleep.

I did recommend cyclone to a few friends... many of them didnt agree with it either. However they noticed it did seem to work on me. This said I focus on CV alot more and use the stamina/edurance dosages rather than the full bulk me up ones.

It seems to create a much more lean muscle rather bulky big look at me which was the aim... but as said doesnt work for all.
