Hey folks
Is there anyway i can get my windscreen wiper to stay up when im cleaning my car as i find it a right pain to keep lifting them. For those who dont know what i mean on my golf the windsreen wipers are below the bonnet so i can not lift them up when i clean my car my step mothers slk has the same but on her instrument cluster i can put the windscreen wipers in a service position so i can lift the blades all the way up. Is there something simiar on the golf?
Probably just a simple question but i am new :signLOL:

All you need to do is when you switch the car off before removing the key is press the wiper stalk down and the wipers will move into the cleaning position!
-
Yeah cheers i tried doing that but mine go all the way back down
-
In my manual it says to turn the ignition on and off quickly to move them into 'winter' position or something. Never tried it but apparently it moves them away from the windscreen?
-
Ignition on, ignition off then remove key then immediately press the wiper arm down and the wiper arms will move to the valet position in the centre of the screen! Simples :happy2:
-
Remember not to lift the bonnet up when the wipers are in the service/valet position!

Why not Stealth?
P.S. Change that friggin sig, it's even confusing me! :P

Because you end up damaging the bonnet! Just ask philistine PhilySteve!

I've asked VC for a lil help so hopefully it'll get done soon.

There should be no problem opening your bonnet whilst the wipers are in the service position and on the windscreen.
-
What you mean is
Greenouse Stealth :signLOL: Dont lift your wipers off the screen unless they are in the valet position or they catch the bonnet. :happy2:
-
Another useful tip if the wipers are in the service position and off the windscreen is NOT to start the car and drive forwards as the wipers will move back into their usual position, chipping a little bit of paint off the back curved edge of the bonnet. :ashamed:

Well Im lost! I can't figure out if it's me posting and if so what Im saying!?!?!?

There's your username to the left. Then there's your sig which states your name.
I'm still waiting on VC.

i think there has been some confusion over:

the wipers being lifted away from the screen.
