Title: Have they stopped making BBS VZ033's?
Post by: tonto83 on May 16, 2012, 01:35:51 pm
Hey guys

As the title says.  My (future) sister in law completely wrecked my front drivers side wheel with kerb rash.  About half the circumference of the wheel.

I don't want to refurb it as I'm worried the colour won't match up with the other three wheels.

So I was thinking of just buying another VZ033 wheel.

I've checked rimstyle and they don't seem to do them anymore?  maybe I'm being dopey and can't see them.

Alternatively is any BBS paint you can buy?

Thanks

Paul

i'm in exactly the same situation as you. yes they've stopped making them

the titanium paint for the VZs is on back order and hasn't been available for weeks

an alternative paint is the titanium paint from the CKs. it's a different colour tho. so your only bet is to get someone to paint match, and have both wheels on that side painted.

thanks sub39h

The titanium paint for the VZ's is on back order?  Where could I order that?  If i have to wait a while for the paint, I don't mind.

I'd rather try that before a refurb

thanks for your help

i went as far as asking Rimstyle. they said it was on back order and i didn't pursue it any further than that. i believe they're BBS distributors for the UK. you can try them or PW Motorsport who are big sellers of BBS

I think I'll give them a shout.  I'll let you know how I get on.

Not sure they have stopped making them? They tend to only manufacture these wheels as and when the demand is there. Speak to Phil @ PW Motorsport, he always seems to know what BBS are up to!  :happy2:

^ Sub,

Are these the Pescara/CH design BBS wheels that were in 18x8 & 5x112 that PW did for £599.99 delivered on all the forums?
Gutted if it's them - was going to get a set for next winter  :chicken:

Should have known better than to try and give an opinion in a thread where you have already done so.....

PW were not mentioned previously so I was just trying to help the OP out. I only mentioned Phil as the last time they stopped making them he informed me when they were due to run another batch.

i'd mentioned them already? look i'm not talking out of my ar$e i have the same wheels as the OP and am looking to replace one too.

i'm sorry if i hadn't explained this earlier but before speaking with PW today i'd already spoken to Rimstyle, Wheelbase and our own W8 Performance all of whom had told me they were no longer in production with none left in Germany

we're not dealing with opinions here. if you wanna help the OP why don't you phone around yourself and prove me wrong?

When I cracked one of my wheels on a pothole I had to get it repaired as I couldn't get hold of any VZ's at the time. Tried Rimstyle and PW among others

I was going to buy a set so emailed Demon Tweeks who told me no more, discontinued. I never got a reply from PWM although this is still on their website:

Now arrived in stock

BBS VZ 033
8x18 ET44 5x112PCD
Audi A3 Golf 5
£649.99 per set

I didn't pursue it anymore. :sad1:

from melanie kaufmann over at BBS:

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.
Unfortunately I need to give you an negative reply, because we do not sell this paint.

The colorcode is  "Audi L 4 EE  +  Seidenglanz".
I think it will be difficult or maybe not possible to get the same color on the free market.
Please ask in an automotive paint shop if they can mix nearly the same color.

Kind regards
