Title: 5K0 bluetooth - star and phone buttons not working?
Post by: jason_rmh on May 16, 2012, 02:00:48 pm: I decided to swap out my 5N0 kit for the 5K0 due to phone compatibility.
I have high line and mfsw. Rcd510.

5K0 035 730 D
Installed and pairs with phone.
Can make calls via rcd510.

Phone and star buttons on mfsw worked on the 5N0 module but not on the 5K0.

I guess its a coding issue but I cannot see any options for it in vcds.
I have set can gateway and steering wheel modules. Short press buttons option in module56 radio is off although it doesn't seem to make a difference either way.

I can't see any options in the BT label file that would apply and the adaptation settings are mostly in German so will try translating it to see if anything applies.

Also the phone book numbers are all messed up when imported to rcd 510.

Any ideas?

I've re checked coding but must be missing something.
Star button does not even mute the stereo. It just doesn't do anything. Same with the phone button.

Post by: Squeeguk on May 18, 2012, 09:00:22 pm: I asked a similar question and didn't get much of a response either. All I can tell you is that on mine, the phone button does nothing, but the star button activates voice control. I have tried various coding options, but no luck.

My 5N0 and the 5K0 kit works with the mk6 wheel phone button.

Star button is due to coding

Like Eddie says its due to the coding,my suggestion is best to try different codes.

What coding should I try for the star button. Eg which module.

If I disable short press buttons I get a working phone button but the up down arrows do not change the radio station / track.
If short press is enabled phone button does not work but up down arrows do work.
Either way the star button does nothing not even mute.

Any advice on what coding required to get star button working?
