As above i got my car back today after having the k04 turbo, s3 injectors, and s3 intercooler fitted, Took it for a drive and floored it omg it pulls so much more and better now and the whole car sound much much more agressive then before didnt think it would be possible with the conversion itself.
Also the DSG burps have gone even louder! The car has also started to give out some LOUD pops from the exhaust as if its flames or something, The car has not been mapped yet just waiting to get booked in by R tech now cant wait!
Normal crusing it seems just the same dont feel that it has any lag at all and at 70mph with cruise on i was getting 38-42 MPG which I am well happy about, anytime i feel i want to give it some I just drop a gear and :driver:
All in all its amazing and well worth it, Only the map to look forward to now along with the DSG map

How much has this bumped your insurance by? I think greenlight quoted me 641 excluding engine mods and an extra 70 with these mods, cant be sure now.

Is it safe to run around on what I presume is a stage 2+ k03 map?

u should never floor it dude :sick: wait till you get it mapped!!

you will break it if you floor it without the map! In reality I heard that you wouldn't be able to drive it at all witk K04, injectors but without the map!
But based on what you're saying it works fine!

Yeah I have realised when flooring it completely there are fuel cuts and it does go into limp mode now and then but once the car is restarted it goes back to normal, I didn't know that I can damage anything if driven without the map?

could be running lean, overboosting. i would wait till you get it mapped. Mine run like a bag of poo

Mine isnt running spot on really, There are loads of fuel cuts or is it misfire am not sure but just sometimes when it pulls to redline and shifts DAMN!
How much power did you get again without WMI?

really dyno pending, but on conservative dyno mine got 330bhp

Have you done brake upgrade, if not your gonna need s3's ,minimum

i got around 360 at the fly i think but i upgraded all the pipes none where standard.

I know the feeling, my car is going to R-tech next thursday for DSG remap then I have to wait until 12th June before I can get back to Jabba for map tweaks, so I wont be able to use the extra 800rpm until the map is completed :sad1:

Might be worth checking on VCDS that you're not doing anything really nasty to the car. That said perhaps the engine will be sufficiently protected with the MK5 ECU even if running oddly?
I've seen the ill effects of a bad map on other turbo-charged engines running standalone, and it is not pretty! Were it me, I'd exercise caution.

i would of booked it into r-tech befor getting the turbo installed lol.
i have decat, bsh throttle pipe, Turbo Discharge Kit, THS IC

Damn doesnt sound good for me at all then, I hope i am not damaging the engine or anything for that matter really hope not, Got very worried just now was in traffic and the car just started shaking and i went straight to the garage and the mechanic who fitted the turbo says it may not be a misfire and more like a piston due to upgrading injectors without the map :scared:
Luckily it wasnt that and was down to the spark plugs, These were changed roughly about 7 months ago (NGK R) but i dont know if the map has totally shortened the life of it.

K04 turbo almost new from 10 plate S3 with 9k miles on the clock £350 - Ebay
S3 Intercooler £90 - Ebay
K04 pipes and other parts required to fit - VRS Alex from the forum
Labour charge - £300 All in
So looks like £1020 + charge for remap

i dunno, when u start getting the power up there the free flowing makes a big diffrence mid range.

The sFs versions were dynoed showing a 4hp improvement. Felt bugger all difference on mine with neuspeed turbo discharge pipe, will fit a new TB pipe for the sake of any slight gain that might be had. Ive given up on trying to get a BSH one. Im confident I could have a nicer one fabricated :smiley:

you having trouble gettin one then? i just orderd of the US site, it took 2 weeks. you cant even see it lol.

Just not keen on BSH stuff, the drop links are turd, the Catch can doesn't look as well thought out or made as the (allbeit more expensive) Forge or DD42
I was on the lookout for a used one & Dubteks service was dire. Will have one made I think

What was clearance like as ive heard most variants are very close to the fans? tis a shame :sad1: With any luck the buyer wont get round to fitting :evilgrin:

very tight the BSH one was better. It is fine if you dont have the THS IC
nick at r-tech had it.. going in his mk4 lol.
