Had my car scanned today by gti265 and had this fault code come up, does anyone have a rough idea of the cost to fix this and if it needs to go to a vw garage or can any decent garage do it, cheers

Also If you can give us some more details on the car (like age, engine code, etc) then it will be possible to look up the price of the past etc.

its a 56 plate golf gti, whereabouts would i find the engine code, cheers
-
Sticker in the boot will have the code, I am pretty sure it will be an AXX on a 56 plate.
-
couldnt find a engine code but the chassis number isWVWZZZ1KZ7W004595 if that is any help

Could it possibly be anything to do with a cambelt change about a month or so ago ??? Als does anyone know where the engine speed sensor is and if it is possibke to make sure there is a good conection on it without taking things apart. Cheers

well got the car back today, all it needed was a new speed sensor. Only cost me £60 so not to bad really.
Only thing was the bloke that fixed it told me the car had been involved in a front end hit and the radiator hasnt been fitted back properly. So because of this the top brackets holding it on arent secured so the top is leaning towards the engine. That means im going to need to get it fixed as it is leaning very close to one of the boost pipes and the last thing i want is for one of them to get damaged and costing me an arm and a leg to get fixed.
All seems to come at once and when you never have any spare money :)
