My car has suddenly developed a knocking noise mainly when turning right and/or a bumpy surface. It sounds quite bad so i've just limped it home :chicken: My mods are in my sig if thats any help :drinking:
Not what I need really a month before I drive across half of europe :fighting:
Cheers

Sounds exactly the same as mine , it turned out to be a split cv gaitor and the grease had dried out .
I used an independant , the new joint was about £ 50 I think plus the labour to swap it over .
I was initially thinking steering rack , thankfully it wasnt .
Good luck

cheers. I've just been out and started the car and I noticed a rattling noise coming from underneath the front end, also it makes the knocking noise when turning the wheel when stationary??

cheers mate, me too. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. I'm taking it so a vw indie this afternoon :sad1: :fighting:

Ok so I just took the car for a quick spin round the block and it seems to do it when going over a bumpy road more than when turning, it almost sounds as if its under my feet/centre console.
Any one got any ideas please?

I've got a quiet knocking too. Got subframe bolts to see if it helps.

Sounds a lot like the problem with mine. I tried drop links but they made no difference :sad1:
Could be your strut top mount?

Cheers, my cv joints are fine, its the clamp from around the driver side of the front arb that has snapped, causing the d-bush to move round so the arb is knocking (metal on metal) on the frame.
I'm just glad its not anything major. I've pm'd w8 performance who supplied them and waiting for his reply.
Has anyone else had this? Mike, Simon seemed to think you'd had this at some point?
Cheers

Cheers mate, looks pretty much the same thing, except mine has snapped a bit further up. What arb do you have and what causes this? My arb only got fitted about 4 months ago and I always try and avoid potholes and I pretty much CRAWL over speed bumps
-
Neuspeed 25mm Arbs mate
Poorly lit road, caught a speed bump at 25mph in dover. Knock knock knocked my way to Sy's
-
I've got the autotech arbs. I wouldn't mind but im certain i've not hit any potholes or speedbumps :fighting: :fighting:
I'm just glad its only something minor really :jumpmove:

Russ
Look what I've found :happy2:
Are these the bits you need? They look slightly different to the first lot of bars

Cheers for your help mate

They will be in the post tomorrow and with you Thursday Russ.
Autotech confirmed they will send another set out to me with my order of HPFP's that are leaving now :jumpmove:
Glad I can get it sorted for you mate, sorry it happened. I broke my front intercooler and damaged the sidewall on my tyre hitting a pothole last year :surprised: Hopefully the roads in Europe will be better :driver:
-
There's no doubt the German roads are better, lived there for 5 year and I'd go back tomo :sad1:
Looks like you've been sorted out there Russ :happy2:
My neuspeed clamps took 4weeks  might have been longer
-
Yeah definitely mike.
Great service there rob. Thanks again
