Title: Steering wheel vibration when accelerating.
Post by: martziniuk on May 22, 2012, 07:26:56 pm
Hi all,
My car has developed a problem. Whenever I accelerate hard my steering wheel vibrates quite badly, when off the throttle it behaves normally. I'm thinking the cv joints have gone but if anyone has any other explanation fire away. There are no splits in the cv boots and no knocking when turning.

I'm quite sure it's not the wheels as it doesn't do it when coasting. All my searches point to the replacement of the cv joint being the cure

Was just a thought, I had exactly the same problem, checked how the wheels were balanced and they were well out! Got them rebalanced, bang, problem solved!
