Hi Guys,
In short I just need a code to match my car which has the RNS510,
I have the RNS-510, FW2760, 5N0 035 730 A, No cradle, VW MIC, no overhead buttons, no mfsw
Sometimes it works and then for weeks it wont. Is it the phone, or the kit?
i have used another newer module but that again only worked sometimes.... !!
I only want my kit to work, at the mo it keeps trying to connect every morning but just doesnt follow it through.
I have posted this issue on other forums and jumped onto another thread on here but no one could help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 1 and have not changed any settings since new.
I upgraded my mk5 r32 to the RNS510 sat nav and a new bluetooth module. All worked great for 3 months then it slowly downgraded itself, then wouldnt control the phone. The phonebook wouldnt download, and it could only be used as a fancy headset.
I tried other phones, some wouldnt even connect. My sisters iphone connected but wouldnt downlaod or share the contacts and couldnt be controlled by the RNS.
I recently changed to a unit that displays on my Red MFA. It paired first time, downloaded the phone book............ worked great. :happy2:
It only did this twice, it connect once ever 50 attempts and now wont connect at all.
Does anyone have any advice or coding I may need? I am really running out of options.
Ive deleted the pariing on my phone, removed the battery, and set 1 in the adaptations 77 vlaue to clear all paired devices with the bluetooth module.
I have tried the default coding, and various other options.
The RNS is on FW 2760.
Im starting to think its a Firmware issue, having treid 2 different modules, different coding and different phones.
Many thanks for any assistance.

There are various coding options available for the 5n0 kit that are not explained in vcds.
I will dig it out and get back to you.

What network operator are you with I found that on the 3 Network it connected first time then after about 2 weeks just dropped network and wouldn't connect again, I recently changed to Orange maybe in the last 6 months and it worked perfect every time.

Here is the coding for the 5N0 module:
xx?xxxx
Language:
0: None
1: German
2: English
3: French
4: Spanish
5: Italian
6: Portuguese
7: Czech
xxx?xxx
Bluetooth Voice-Control Selection:
0: Bluetooth Voice-Control Audioset 1
1: Bluetooth Voice-Control Audioset 2
2: Bluetooth Voice-Control Audioset 3
3: Bluetooth Voice-Control ON
4: Bluetooth Voice-Control ON
5: Bluetooth Voice-Control ON
6: Bluetooth Voice-Control OFF
7: Bluetooth Voice-Control OFF
8: Bluetooth Voice-Control OFF
xxxx?xx
GSM Antenna Diagnosis/Phone Cradle Presence:
0: Antenna diagnosis ON/Phone cradle present
1: Antenna diagnosis ON/Phone cradle absent
2: Antenna diagnosis OFF/Phone cradle absent
3: Antenna diagnosis OFF/Phone cradle present
xxxxx?x
Voice Control Module Selection/Dash Keyboard Presence/Satnav Presence:
0: RNS Voice Control/Dash Keyboard absent/Satnav present
1: RNS Voice Control/Dash Keyboard present/Satnav present
2: Bluetooth Voice Control/Dash Keyboard absent/Satnav absent
3: Bluetooth Voice Control/Dash Keyboard present/Satnav absent
4: Bluetooth Voice Control/Dash Keyboard absent/Satnav present
5: Bluetooth Voice Control/Dash Keyboard present/Satnav present
xxxxxx?
Line-out Diagnosis/Radio Mute Signal Activation/Overhead Buttons Presence
1: Line-out diagnosis ON/Mute Signal OFF/Overhead Buttons absent
2: Line-out diagnosis OFF/Mute Signal ON/Overhead Buttons absent
3: Line-out diagnosis ON/Mute Signal ON/Overhead Buttons absent
4: Line-out diagnosis OFF/Mute Signal OFF/Overhead Buttons present
5: Line-out diagnosis ON/Mute Signal OFF/Overhead Buttons present
6: Line-out diagnosis OFF/Mute Signal ON/Overhead Buttons present
7: Line-out diagnosis ON/Mute Signal ON/Overhead Buttons present
8: Line-out diagnosis OFF/Mute Signal OFF/Overhead Buttons absent
Since you have rns510 you will probably want something like:
0
0
2: English
0: Bluetooth Voice-Control Audioset 1 OR 8: Bluetooth Voice-Control OFF?? (Voice control via RNS510??)
1: Antenna diagnosis ON/Phone cradle absent
0: RNS Voice Control/Dash Keyboard absent/Satnav present
8: Line-out diagnosis OFF/Mute Signal OFF/Overhead Buttons absent
0020108
Since you have rns510, voice control is via RNS not via bluetooth module.
Antenna diagnosis may need to be off if it causes an antenna error.
The mk5 golf doesnt have the dash keyboard or over head buttons.
If you get control head or antenna errors you will need to play about with the coding.
Hope this helps.

I'm with Orange at the moment, but im due an upgrade soon.
I have tried a few different codes but never these, so will give it a go.
Its just that it connects when it feels like, once every 50 or 200 !! lol
Will try again and get back to you, just want the thing to do what its suppose to do !!

I know the feeling. My 5no kit was a pain to get going. Ended up swapping out for 5k0 in the end as it got the better of me.

A bit late, but may be be usefull to someone. Do not buy a 5N0 035 730 a/b/c BT module if you are a 3 customer. 3 is 3g only whereas those medules suport 2g only!
