Title: Dipping Side Mirrors
Post by: Johnny_tro on May 22, 2012, 11:20:22 pm
I have electric folding, heated side mirros with puddle lights. When on VCDS I can confirm the box saying 'reverse dipped' (or something like that) was active, however when I go into reverse my mirror(s) do not dip.

Does anyone one the process of 'how to set thesr up' ?

Can't help with the set up, but the passenger side only dips when the Electric Mirror adjustment switch is set to "L"..

Rich...

Its a 2004

Have tried reversing with the swtich in L, R, heated - all options.

I believe the process is something like.........dip the left mirror, while in the put the car is reverse, then flick to switch to R then out of reverse. < this sort of thing. Option is OK on VCDS, no faults etc - but does not dip when reversing....?

It's only cars post 2007 did dipping mirrors appeared. You can't enable it in vcds with these early cars.

I think mine is ticked too but without the proper door controllers, etc. it won't work.

Switch on ignition but do not start the car
Put mirror selector switch to L
Select reverse
Position the mirror how you want it
Take car out of reverse
Turn off ignition

The mirror should then move back to its original position and from then on it will work. However I'm pretty certain this only works if you have electric memory drivers seat.

You won't have it on 2004 car

Only way to get it is to have a memory motor in passenger side mirror and a GEN3 Max controller

This is what I added to my car
