				oh  thanks mate!!!!  :happy2:
got old 55 reg gt tdi, saving for a ed30, but toying with the idea of getting newer gt tdi with dsg?
opinions?

			-
No comparison unless the main factor behind purchase is the cheapest fuel costs...

			-
only use the car to work and back (4 mile) so torn on what to get now, newer diesel or a rapid ed30

			-
				Forget about the diesel!

			-
You only live once you can get a diesel in the future when tax and emissions means petrol cars are for the rich few

			-
^ What he said. Its only money.

			-
Surely running a diesel on such a short commute is not cost effective?

that's what i thought

used to do lot of miles, about 100 a day but moved up north and now i only do 4 or 5. so a few years ago i needed a diesel for the commute, but now its not important.

In that case I'll revise my comment to a simple *no comparison!* get the ed30 lad and have some giggles on your journey

Get the ed30! I had the same thought process but as I only live 2 miles from work it made no sense to buy a diesel, so I bought a GTI instead.

....2 miles to work and 20 miles home from work!

Get the GTI (and a push bike for the commute).
