So im looking to make sure my engine has all the bits its need to comfortably handle the power its putting out.
I have revo 2+ map
hpfp
s3 intercooler
miltek tbe
itg intake
latest dv and pcv
ths engine mounts
always run on vpower
currently having oil changes every 6months
and normal services otherwise at VW.
Should i be thinking about fitting a catch can, rs4 valve? Or any other bits that will be good for the engine? Not looking for more power.
After looking around now my car has been paid off i couldn't find anything else i wanted so keeping her for the long term and want to make sure she will get there in one piece!

Well it can't hurt and better to have any microscopic metallic particles stuck to the magnet than them circulating around your engine in the oil.

i am in same position as you, have rs4 valve and ecs sump plug.
so i would also wonder about whether is worth fitting the catcchcan. I have read RR's review several times and can see the benefits.
Did i not read a post once though that suggested some negative points??

The magnetic sump plug, if anything, will reduce the amount of metallic particles which end up in the filter...but seeing as the filter is replaced on each service, I don't see this as a big worry anyway :happy2:

This is more for keeping her running well but I suggest changing the spark plugs every alternate oil change. My oil gets changed every 10k miles and plugs every 20k miles.
It sounds to me as if you are doing the right thing :happy2: If I think of anything else I'll post.
Judging by the gunk that my catch tank collects and also comment from JKM who inspected my valves and they were cleaner than expected, I can't say conclusively that a catch tank system is essential but I have the peace of mind that it helps.
For anyone who doesn't know already, I've driven over 100,000 miles and still going strong - Look out for that 75yo old GIT who drives an old Mk5 GTI, it will have done 200,000 miles.
