I'm not sure what to call it but, this has happened since I had my new clutch/flywheel replaced I thought it would go away but it hasn't :jumping:
just wondering if any other fellow mk5 gti owners have this aswell, when applying gas just under the biting point sometimes there is a grinding noise like something is spinning its hard to explain but
when the clutch is fully disengaged it's not present, only when engaging, any help is appriecated because I think it's another trip the the garage just want some second opinions before getting fobbed off
:driver:

Had this before
Sounds like the thin plate behind the flywheel between the gearbox and engine has been bent a little.
Easy done when removing/fighting with a heavy 6 speed gearbox
The plate can usually be straightened ok with the gearbox still place.

dam are you sure? so another clutch job? more labour !! noooo

He said it can be fixed with the gearbox in place still :happy2:

apart from the noise do you know if it causes any damage?
-
If it is what I think it is, the plate just needs tweaked a little
Does no damage except scrapes the plate which you prob can't see anyway.
