Do I need to buy vagcom to sort this?
If so them lights back off for now :(

Yup, you need to code the ecu using vcds if you instal xenon lights.

Ah right thanks, where's best/cheapest to buy it?

Just look on here http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,120.0.html to see if a vcds owner is nearby then ask if they could help with the coding for some beer tokens.

I'm just going to sell these on, then buy the hella non xenon ones and fit an hid kit instead!

I would definitely stick with your oem xenons and make the effort to get them running as they are 1000% better than hid's, maybe find a local tuner can code it for you.
