It's very nice, no doubt

Here http://www.fuel-economy.co.uk/calc.shtml reckons @ 20mpg average you'd spend £459.95 :surprised: :scared: on fuel @ 134.9p, doing that many miles per month  :surprised: :scared:

Deep pockets and big balls? Go for it    :drinking:

Oooo that's steep haha. I'm spending £200 roughly at the minute ... It's just really got to me , I'm constantly looking at it, then I'm on YouTube watching videos , then searching the net for info ...  :stupid:

I do have moments where I think the cost would be worth it, driving that every day !

I want it Ste ! It's playing on my mind. Without a doubt I would buy it if I still lived Denton way , I used to use a tank of fuel a month - ish. Would be reasonable if that was the case. I wonder if it could ever be ok on fuel say 50 on motorway ...?

50? surely you mean 150....

Speak to Greeners mate, he was / is getting pretty reasonable economy out of the RS4 saloon he has at the moment....

I bet he is he's trying to sell it haha ;-)

Frustrating that a dream car like this that's affordable is a no no because of fuel costs

I might try and have a drive of one and see what they're actually like.

And the colours lovely, and the seats ..

The fuel costs will be bugger all compared to servicing and maintaining the monster.

Discs and pads all around £1500

Tyres £200 a corner

Being realistic a 3 series 325i gives 25mpg, double the volume and an extra couple of cylinders won't be doing any better thats for certain. V8 RS4's are not for people who are concerned about MPG....if you have to ask......

I'm not nieve mate I'm aware of most the costs and it's very unlikely I would buy this car.. If I wanted it I would get it.. It's just that usually I have a quick look at them , few day dreams and then it's forgotten about. I just mentioned this one as it is perfect IMO and I can't stop thinking about it ... I mention fuel as its something that generally grates and me as it does everyone else, and its a monthly thing ..

Just reread what I posted and I didn't actually mean it to sound like it did..

I know what you mean...it wouldn't be too difficult to afford this car if you really wanted to.....I've looked at them specifically the Misano red one in Classifieds and keep coming back to the same conclusion....for every 1 mile you drive for kicks and grins you drive 10 on the commute and it's difficult to make the economics work in your head even though its achievable.

Tempting though innit!

I've been thinking the other way, cheap Cat D GTI off the bay, TT Hubs, wide arches, strip it out, hybrid KO4, using RS4 brakes, RS4 injectors, Rs4 dump valve and then come back to thinking just buy a bloody RS4

My Brother In Law has one in Red and it really is lovely (not envious at all) but it's a weekend car. Why not do the same thing. If your looking at (possibly, maybe, thinking) buying it and you know the running/maintainence costs you may as well scratch that itch. Won't get it out of your system until you do!!

Considering how dreadful the MPG is on these things, they arent really that quick. Certianly wasnt blown away with the power when i had a passenger ride in one.

Put it this way, an RS4 has always been in my top 5 and usually the first..........

But after using one for the last few months i'd have to say it's probably dropped off the radar completely. The sound, although awesome just isn't as fruity and noisy as I'd have hoped, even with the sport button pressed ALL the time. I certainly wouldn't consider one as a daily as buying is one thing, running is another all together.

And I was genuinely getting between 24 and 27 mpg if I took it steady. Obviously a few spirited bursts would soon see that very north of 20mpg. And thats not sales bull$hit either!  :angry015:

And as for the cabriolet, I'd steer well clear as they just do not feel as rigid as the saloon and the scuttle shake is quite alarming on badly surfaced roads (so most roads then). And compared with a mapped K04 they feel a bit on the sluggish side and you really start to feel the extra weight they lug around.

I must say though, the Misano one I had made me weak at the knees when the sun shone on her!
