Well today I noticed the Bulb warning light On the dash.
I've been round the car checking headlights, sidelights, brakes, indicators, fogs, reverse, and interior and I can't see any blown bulbs.
I also checked the boot light and glovebox light.
Still the light is on the dash???
Any ideas? :sad1:

Check registration plate lights

Nice one mate! I thought I had checked everywhere! :congrats:
I'll check em later on.
-
Also - have you fitted any LED bulbs ? these can give intermittent bulb failure warning when in fact they are working just fine (measurement of resistance change makes the circuit think its broken)
-
No mate, no LEDs.

It should come up on the dash what bulb has gone.... if you turn the ignition off and back on again it should bing at you and say which bulb to check/replace

what was it in the end? a sneaky reg plate bulb?

I believe most German cars has bulb failure detection system works on resistance, it is quite likely to behave as you describe. The best that can be said is a bulb is about to fail. Happened to me once, warning light came on, before bulb failed, day later side bulb gave up.
It also could be loose bulb connection, have you recently replaced any bulbs?

Well on start up the bulb detection said it was the rear left brake light. However it still works fine....or so I thought.
It worked fine when checked with a neighbour, but tonight we checked again and it worked intermittently.
So it looks like the computer even detects bulbs on the way out :happy2:

I've got the exact same problem. Only happens sometimes on start up, "Rear Left Brake Light Not Working", but by the time I get to the end of the road and touch the brakes the warning light goes out and the brake light works fine. Weird!!!!

Mine done this with a sidelight, changed it and has been fine ever since. Now the passenger headlight has started doing it so now there's a good excuse to upgrade my headlight bulbs
