Lovely head unit, slightly slow boot up but plays radio/dvd etc while initialising so only about a 20 second delay really. I really nead to upgrade my speakers now to make the most of it but it sounds very good as it is with cd/dvd/mp3. Radio reception is not faultless though, so I tend to use the freeview for digital radio.

The picture quality from freeview is loads better than it appears from those photo's. I didn't bother setting the camera properly and just grabbed a few quick shots.
-
over 30 views and not a single comment, guess people don't like clarkson :ashamed:
-
That's very cool, it's on my shopping list! Does it actually come with freeview too?!?
-
Looking good
-
Get it cleaned!
There you go! :happy2:
-
Unfortunately not no, the freeview unit is a separate bit of kit - twin tuners and twin ariels, seems to work very well so far. The previous onwer had it all installed and wanted to take it out for his new car so I offered him an extra £500 to leave it all in. The freeview box isn't cheap though, much more than a normal set top box type.
-
looks good-thinking of getting it in my car but wasn't sure where the aerials will be
-
looks great, would love to have this in my floater :happy2:

Is that the F700 or 900?
Looking at one for my next stereo - I'm guessing you've got firmware 2.0. V1.0 was AWFUL :( Sooooo slow.
get over to

It's the 900, nice unit but I have no idea how it compares to other unit's on the market. It is much more stable with the latest firmware though, but it is basically a pc so has the odd moment of madness if you try and get it to do things while it's still booting. Will post pic's of the freeview ariels.

My front ariel is tucked up behind the rear view mirror, can't see it without looking for it, here's the rear one

What's TV reception like on the move?
I remember the TV in the M3 being pretty bad. And digital is fussier than analogue.

Honestly don't know mate as I value my life too much to try and watch tv whilst driving  if I get the chance I'll try and get one of my mates to have a look while I potter about over the weekend.
