Title: 2 x 2007 Audi Q7 TDI Stolen
Post by: garrardrj on June 07, 2012, 04:33:12 pm
You may know what i do for a living..... Well it would appear that someone has sussed how to get these without the keys. Have had 2 stolen in 3 days locally and owners still in possession of the keys. Anyone else know of any nationwide stolen ? There is no link to the two that i know of yet. Any info by pm please  :happy2:

Same problem as BMWs are having? Carefully smashed window and a plug in ODB tool which you can use to create a cloned key, or even start it if keyless??

Can do this with most modern cars that use a generic 'non shaped' key. I can do it on pretty much most new cars, its quite scary.

Theres a major issue at present with BMW's, if you have a tool that can code the CAS then it takes about 45 seconds to steal.

TBH... if some pikey scum wants something badly enough.. they will find a way to get it... and personally id prefer them to quitely do this than break into my house and hunt for keys or worse... hold someone up for their keys.

In a lot of cases the windows aren't even smashed to steal the bmw's. I've read up quite about this and it is a big problem, seems to be concentrated around the east london and west midlands areas. A few BMW forums are trying to get BMW to realise there is a security problem that needs sorting, but are running into a brick wall so far.

Havin recently bought a BMW, it's quite worrying as if it continues, insurance will no doubt rocker.

Seems BMW are going to investigate.  It was in the Sun so it must be true!

 :signLOL: :signLOL:

Heard about the BMW's, bit of a problem with them with the car thiefs stealing to order. BUT as mentioned I'd rather they quietly nicked the car without breaking into the house etc

My neighbour had his 2 BMW's stolen about 5 years ago. They didn't need any keys as they drove up to his drive and lifted his cars onto the back of a low loader and off they went. Even had time to say hi to my wife and daughter as they turned up. My wifey had no idea they were being nicked until the police came round to ask if we had seen anything!! Bless her, she was a bit upset (they were not even our cars)

Mercedes sprinter vans are the most targetted...but any CAT is profitable. 4x4 and vans are easier as they are higher off the ground than cars

Big problem at the minute is people obtaining cloned keys. With the right equipment (usually stolen or brought from dealer) this is a very regular theft usually performed on Hire cars.

Thats is the real issue . A Few hundred/thousand quid to the right person will always overcome most security , whatever security you may have and whatever product you are looking to steal.

Why steal it, not exactly a "shrinking violet" car/colour/wheel combo.  :stupid:

No taste in cars some people and footballers wife style by the sound of it.
