Title: Golf Ed 30 - whining noise from engine area.
Post by: mistersi on June 08, 2012, 10:46:17 pm
I've just bought a Edition 30 which has full SH and has just had the cambelt changed by the main dealer ( not the water pump though) . Yesterday I was reversing into a parking bay and the car made a small whine as if a belt was out of sync ( I'm no mechanic!). In addition it has done it when cruising on motorway at 70mph with foot in gas pedal , no gear changes had taken place and I wasn't resting foot on clutch pedal . I know it's a bit vague but any ideas? Thanks

Had the same problem..perhaps? Mine had a problem with pressure control valve  . I replaced it with new one, and the problem was gone. Maybe try that..
