Thats shocking. :scared:
I feel sorry for the guy and his family to have gone thru that and utterly, utterly hope those guys get found and introduced to the seatless chair and the knotted rope. :fighting:
If you click the more info box,a story will tell you what happened.
Basically, the owner was sitting in the house when these guys broke in and threatened him and his family with a crowbar and demanded the car keys.

Scumbags!! Thing Is IF they get caught they will probably get a light sentence or get away with it altogether

People work had to be able to afford nice cars and people think they can just help themselves to them

Another reason why that even when your in your own house to have doors locked. it only takes you seconds for someone to get in the house!

Get sash jammers fitted, even if the barrels gets snapped, they'd still struggle to get in without smashing a window!

Hi have these sash jammers Frodo speaks of and to be honest I cannot recommend them enough the glazing guy who fitted all the windows and patio door got me them cheap enough.

Put them at the top and bottom and 1 to the side of the patio and it will take a thief far longer to get in or even have to smash the window to get through :fighting:

Would have been great if the owner was an 8ft martial arts expert, an his cameras showed us a lesson in Kung fu.

Sash jammers would have been great, but people just don't remember to lock their doors until things like this happen.

8yrs ago both my misses and my sister had their handbags nicked from my mums house.

Someone just came in through the back door and got em. Mum never locked the doors or used the sash jammers I had fitted. :sad1:

No one in the house knew about it until it was time for us to leave. My misses couldn't find her bag!

We found the bags in the back garden, empty.

Ever since then Mum always dropped the sash jammers and locked the door.

She got so paranoid after that, she often locked the door, and then kept checking to see if she had locked it.  :ashamed:

That's a bit odd, first they must have known the owners were out, how did they open the front door without force, why did they care that the front door was shut after them.

Would love to know the full story, i bet it wad eastern europeans, they often steal cars to order or break up for parts.

Arseholes!!!!

I thought the people were in the house and the scumbags demanded the keys.???

One lads holds the door handle so they can't come out, while the other starts the car.

I could be wrong. :ashamed:

So they left a nice car on a busy road and didn't lock their front door? Bet the insurance company enjoyed that conversation...

I feel for the owner personally. Lets hope it never happens to you andrew, and you lock the door every single time you go in and out of your house and in broad daylight

If i did, it would be known as "Parinoid" imo

Not everyone's perfect.
I mean some people think it's acceptable to walk into someone else's house, steal their keys and then make off with their car.

What is the world coming to...  :scared:

Someone has tried to break into my house with the express purpose of taking my car, however I have, and alway have locked my doors at all times. I have thumb turn cylinders and sash jammers, and lock them whether it's daylight or the middle of the night. I'm not saying they don't deserve sympathy, but you're very naive if you think you don't need to have your front door locked at all times. It shouldn't confuse you Steve, it's quite simple really.

Oh, and it's Paranoid, and it sounds like you should try it, or you might be next.

In all seriousness, I don't condone this kind of thing and I do genuinely feel sorry for them, but come on, you are kind of asking for it if you don't at least secure your front door!

It doesn't happen down south Andrew as much as up North...

I think there was only one organised Car theft of an S3 in Chandlers ford about a year ago, but they normally hit rural areas and not built up ones, ( or in areas that nice cars may not be as common place) if you see what I mean..I'm in that sort of area so am tucked away as it were.

I always lock up when in the evenings normally or obviously when I'm not at home, but all my valuables and keys are hidden away and not in easy reach.

Its that sort of attitude that car thieves love!! your in a high risk country, forget about your area.

You think a few hours drive is going to put these punks off stealing a £30k car?

Jay, London, Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, are more common... When was Southampton last time a common hit? It's not as big a problem down here. ...thankfully

They must have had some advanced knowledge if it is the case that the front door was open.  Most front doors are locked from the outside once closed, not like back doors (UPVC) which often you need to lock.

Or do they stop at every house with a nice car and see if the front door is open and hope they don't go inside to find 6'4" Steve sitting there with 10 of his rugby mates!!

Can I make an observation here men , looking at the car when it drove off the drive (especially the intitial pull off ), it looks like its dsg as he holds it on the brake whilst still moving ( the same way all dsg owners do). So , foot on the brake to start the engine and select drive. He knows how to do this quite quickly but doesn't know how to open the key or car ?

Chris.

"Please view this video and help identify the people in it. On 7th June 2012 2 men burst into my home were my family were relaxing - catching me off guard, they threatened us with a crowbar, took these keys to our Audi S3. Call crime stoppers on 0800 555 111."

I have a nice Louisville Slugger, Ball and Glove on display so its not a weapon.
And a nice large MagLight.
And some nice training which culminates in someone getting very hurt.
This really gets my f*cking goat.
I kind of agree with Andrew about locking the door.
But some doors today, for some reason, don't now lock from the outside. Mine does!
I would have chased that **** out of the front door and would have at least smashed the window of the car so he couldn't have seen!

If a couple blokes come steaming through your front room  at a minimum your gonna need a blade whether your 5 foot 5 or 6 foot 4, as they will very likely be carrying one themselves

The best thing that could've happened is they lose control of the car and stuff it into a wall at 100mph and burn alive.
Sorry but it's what they deserve.

I agree.. It's easy to be 'Barry Big Bollocks' when commenting on something as horrific as this, but when it's you sat there watching the evening news with your 2 year old sat on your lap and 2 scumbags burst in tooled-up demanding your car keys, you're going to do what exactly?!?! Risk your kids life for a bit of metal that is fully insured, or  chuck them the keys are and tell them to f*ck off out your house...
Don't get me wrong guys, if some grotter came up to me in the street and asked for my keys they would have to broken nose at the very least. I have also taken my car keys to bed with me every night for the last 10 years (even though the car is garaged out of sight every night). But I have no kids and circumstances need to be taken into account when not knowing the full details..

At least the guy had CCTV (that is actually clear for once), so there is a good chance they may get hold of the cnuts.. The car however I fear will be long gone..

The car is probably running round on false plates and will probably either be used for another job or sold on to some unsuspecting individual on ebay or similar.

My GSXR600K4 got nicked about 7 years ago. Along with £3k's worth of Alpinestars leathers and Arai helmets.

I truly hope they died riding it.

I mean that rightly or wrongly but eye for an eye and all that.

Police said if the garage hadn't been attached to the house they wouldn't have even bothered coming out and just given me a crime number.

All my martial arts gear was in the garage as well with my trophies and national champs posters but they probably can't read so it washed over them!

Cnuts completely and utterly, and even though insured its still a nightmare and a massive loss of money and time so I don't necessarily agree with the 'its just a lump of metal'.

It was f*cking heart breaking as I was into bikes more than I ever have been with cars!
