Hi,
When im flooring to rev limiter from 1st into 2nd and then when i change gear into 3rd ( floor the clutch , change gear then release the clutch ) the clutch sicks at the bottom.
I have to press the clutch again to release it.
Maybe i shouldnt floor the clutch right to the bottom ?
It doesnt do it changing into any other gear though....
I'm also thinking is it because of the remap, 2nd into 3rd is too much and the ECU keeps the clutch at the bottom.
I'm not sure - any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Richard

Anyone know  ?

VCDS jobby, see if its kicking any fault codes up??
-
i dont think theres no way the ecu can control the clutch and keep it down mate, have you checked its not getting caught on the carpet or trim above the pedals? other then that id say it sounds like a sticky master cylinder hth
-
i think iva had this a few times richi.
my clutch has never stuck down but sometime, when changing 2nd to 3rd it makes a sort of quick rubbing noise as if the selector is rubbing/catching on something in the bay.

yea !!!
Its like it doesnt go slot into gear... it just rubs.
strange

I know the ECU does not control the clutch, but surely it would kick up a fault on the ECU. Is that not what part of its job is to save time searching for problems by showing any faults?

This happens alot on the race cars with all the abuse they get, 9 times out of 10 its the brake fluid needing a change, or its the clutch release bearing spring starting to fail. obviously having never driven your car i cant be 100% but i would start with a fluid change.....have you done any track days recently that may have got the fluid hotter than normal raod driving.
Cheers

Hey Mark,
I was just about to email your website info@racing :signLOL:
No, i haven't been on any track days, all i have had is the Custom Tuning remap to 198bhp and i use V Power unleaded all the time.
I was emailing you say, could i pop down one time this mid summer for you to run a check on my car ?
Just make sure everythings squeaky clean and running as it should.
Its a 1.4 GT TSi 170ps ( Supercharged and Turbocharged engine ) remapped to 198bhp.
I'll sent you a PM :happy2:
Cheerrs,

I had a fault with this.. and i took it to vw.. the said i needed a new clutch and quoted nearly 1k for this job. I couldnt drive mine though and i think you might get the same problem soon! You will start getting the rubbing and burning and almighty sound that comes with.
So off i go to local specialist garage that work on vw in my home town. And yep right enough i needed a new clutch. and got it all done for £400. But he showed me my old one.. and there wasnt anything left. The car had covered 89k with the original clutch. Crazy eh!
Car is on 90,550k at the mo, and is running superbly.. however i think i might need to get someone to look at the fans in the front. as only one is spinning, and they are making allot o noise.. nothing crazy but i can hear them allot more now.
But yeah, i think you may have what i had.
