				Hi all,

in need of some urgent help, just made my way home from work only to find that my handbreak warning light remains on when the handbreak is off / down.....

doesnt appear to be much advice on google, has anyone had this problem before, is there a quick an easy fix - its bad timing as i have a 6 hour drive on thursday, not sure i can cope with the constant beeping.....

thanks in adanvce for any adivce!!

anyone?? must have happened to somebody out there...

-
I haven't got the manual handy, but isn't that light also a warning for low brake pads?

-
it certainly was in my old nissan almera but since the mk4 (IIRC) VW have used the dedicated yellow low brake pad symbol - a yellow circle with two broken semi circles either side kinda...

-
Yellow brake symbol for brake pads.

If it is still beeping aswell i would say the car still thinks the handbrake is on, so must be a broken sensor.

Think the warning light can mean other faults though.
-
				Check your brake fluid.

As above, the handbrake warning light is also a warning light for low brake fluid or a fault with the braking system (non-ABS related)
