So a colleague at work asks me to look out for a new set of headlights for her 55 plate mk5 2.0 fsi. I ask her why and she tells me they're hazy and yellowed through sun damage. This seems to be an issue with some mk5s. I tell I'll fix it for beer and save her a few hundred quid. So I go and buy a 3m headlight restoration kit and get polishing.
I don't have a da polisher so I went down this route as you can use it with a drill. £24 for the pack which comes with various grades of disc, a foam backing plate, a form polisher and some rubbing compound.
He's before....

Good job there. :happy2:
-
How did you find the 3m kit?
-
They have turned out great :happy2:
-
Yeah I thought it was good. Easy to use, just what I needed. Was only enough kit in it for a single use so works out quite expensive I suppose. cheaper than new lights though

They have turned out great :happy2:
Thanks :happy2:

Nice one, good job. I did the same on my Mom's Focus, but it was just the one headlight. Ended up looking newer than the other one which looked ok before.
