Title: Pescara VS Pro race 1.2?
Post by: Aparoon on May 23, 2009, 06:26:55 pm
I have just baught a set of team dynamics pro race 1.2 wheels in black, they are unused and i got them quite cheap, what are they worth usually? Also does anybody know the weigth difference between them and the standard Pescara's?

Im undecided whether to keep them or to sell them?

Any help appreciated, thanks, Chris

I really like the pescara but just heard a lot about these wheels being lightweight and i do like black wheels, im just trying to decide whether to keep them or sell them on. Would i be able to feel any difference in the way the car drives with them??

Pescara's are 26.5lb and Pro race are 19.8lb.

So a saving of 6.7lb per wheel = 26.8lb saving

Factor the equation for the fact that it is a rotating mass on the unsprung weight and a set of Pro Race alloys is the equivalent of taking 160lb of dead weight from inside your car, or a 11.5 stone man!!! :surprised:

Just picked the wheels up, they look really nice but not got them on the car yet! I cant decide what to do, i just lined them up next to the car but my pescaras look really nice as they're clean, how much would people expect to sell them for, any ideas?

I remember getting mixed reactions when I first put them on mine over a year ago as there wasn't any GTI's (AFAIK) with them on before hand, so was a bit of a suck it and see jobby at the time.
Can happily say i've been chuffed to bits with mine though and the likes of Luca and JC will more than likely back me up when I say  they are about the best bang for buck wheel you can currently get.. :happy2:

It did look good

Even with the gloss finish - suited the car well as you kept it mint

Personally i like the matte and satin finishes they offer  :happy2:

I've still got mine and they do make a difference. Whenever I put the TD's back on, the car just feels more alive. It is a pity they don't have the show with the go as much as BBS et al.
