As per the title, had a chance to have a good look around and sit inside the new m135i whilst making brum brum noises and dirtying the carpets yesterday...
In short i love it! :happy2:
£29,995 OTR was confirmed by the BMW staff and seems really nicely specced as standard although i was struggling to see where the £7K of options on the demo car was hiding...?
Estoril Blue would defintely be my choice, looks fantastic in the flesh imo :happy2:

Love it ! Ill have one of those in estroil blue aswell please !
5 door ! Whats on the standard list for 29k out of interest ?
-
Dealer was asking me if I wanted a test drive when mine was in for service, said no, I know it will be good and I know I will want it and have finally convinced myself I like diesel :signLOL:
-
Seen this car a couple of times now (Brands Hatch / Oulton Park) - its not bad but I really don't like the bottom half of the rear end, such a hash job in my opinion.
What about the A45 AMG that's coming? Priced around £32k apparently. 335bhp and 4WD!
-
 that's horrendous, the back end is what ruins it, No doubt it's guna be a corker tho :driver:
-
I'm ordering one, I've somehow managed to get past the looks, thankfully. :happy2:
-
£30k gets you leather, xenons, bluetooth, Brembos, 18s with no-runflat option, a proper electronic locking LSD like the M5 (rather than my version which works on the brakes) and that all important "oil dipstick".
In typical BMW style, 'Nav will be a big cost option. I can't see me wanting/needing much else though?? My only slight concern is it having e-PAS - the same system in the current 1-series is gash. Thankfully my 135i has proper stuff.
Dealers are already offering 7-9% off according to those getting their orders in now.
-
This will be epic... shame its got a face (and arse) only a mother could love.
-
Not a bad spec that ! I wouldnt want more than that tbh ! Think thats top of my list for my next car ! Its good to see BMW are starting to put decent brakes on things now a days !
Im not spending over 15k on a car again though so ill be 5-6 years away !
Nice though, let us know how you get on with it when you get one !
-
This car will be epic to drive no doubt but it looks terrible and i liked the older coupe version alot. Disappointed is an understatement but i couldnt look at that mess sat on the drive :sad1:
-
I've been looking at the current 135i Coupe...might be able to afford one when this comes out.
Why does the rear remind me of a Polo?
-
If you can get over the looks it's going to be a fantastic car
-

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I think its the rear lights that look like they have been nicked off the polo and stretched into place

X2
Is the rear head room still designed for 5ft munchkins?
-
I think it looks way better than the previous generation. Id buy one tomorrow if i could afford one. :sad1:
-
I don't like what they have done with the shape - previous version looked much better.
Saying that, that's a pretty stunning colour.
-
Might have a good performance engine but man is that front so ugly.
Shape before is 10x better
-
I think it may look better with that black plastic slab on the back pained blue also...
-
I dont like any of the new 'snub nosed' BMWs... this one included, even though im sure its a fantastic car.
-
What were they thinking when they designed them headlights?! Utterly hideous! If it ain't broke BMW, don't fix it!
-
same engine as the last one?
-
Didn't like the styling of the first 1 Series and don't think BMW have improved it. Just not a patch on the styling of the Mk6 Golf. I hope the VW designers don't go the same way. I'm sure it's a great car, just not one I would like to take a look back at as I walk away..

Well you know what they say, you can't polish a turd! :signLOL:

That's the wife
-
Its a grower as was the first 1 series.
-
You'd never describe it as pretty, and I can't see me ever liking the nose - but that aside, it's quite ok.
I think it's a little under wheeled, making it appear flabby. That'd soon be fixed by some 19s if you're that was inclined. I think a drop would suffice.
VWs and Audis have always been 'safe'...SEAT are more daring with design, Skoda more utilitarian. Looking back at all the old Bangle BMWs, they still look superb IMO.
I remember the Sierra being launched. Everyone was repulsed by it, but every car after was the same jelly mould clone of it.
-
same engine as the last one?
Same N55 unit as mine AKAIK Pov. Not sure if they have made any slight changes to it or not though..
Be interesting to see what BMW Performance bits are available for it. Could make a massive difference to the looks and jazz it up a bit..
-
.
I think it's a big improvement on the previous 1-series body styling and there surely can be no doubt how good it will be as a car with a BMW badge.
If this model had been available in 2005 when I swopped my BMW 6-shooter coupe for my GTI, I would have been very tempted.

I hadn't thought of that, they sold a completely different front bumper for our shape which was really nice. We may be saved!
-
Have you signed on the dotted line yet then Mike? :jumping:
Are you still heading to Inters? Or like me are you making a decision on the weather last minute?
-
Not yet, I'm considering waiting till spring to give them chance to bring out more shiny bits to add, and then I can also use my bonus to fund it. I'll have one though.
I'll be there Sunday, but in some Pork as the 135i is in for service. :happy2:
