Title: Back in the game! Laser blue Beauty!
Post by: Mk5 GTian on June 22, 2012, 06:37:47 pm
After 2 weeks and 4 days without a Mk5 GTi, I picked him up this afternoon, and I have never been happier to pick up a car in my life!

Spec:

SatNav
Highline
Leather
heated seats
SUNROOF!!
10 speaker stereo

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1188.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz418%2FGTi72%2FDSC_0124.jpg&hash=b1af056faecf977870e5401b9ef77809b5aadaa6)

With this spec, it's ticking all the boxes, and I am absolutely delighted with it. The colour is amazing as well     :happy2:
What's interesting though is that it rides so much better on 17's. I know they don't look as good, but the driving experience is so much more liveable with. I've heard it handles better as well, but I'll have to  wait for it to dry out before I test out that theory!

Thanks mate, i can't wait to get the power up! i'm very, very interested in the BCS powervalve TBE. I was going to go down the Milltek/JKM route, but I'm now going to stick with PDT/Storm Developments and probably going with the BCS exhaust and carbon fibre intake.

Lower her (sorry, you call your car a "him" :surprised:) and the 17's will look much better.

BCS a good choice  :happy2:

Ha Ha, Robin, is it a bit dodgy calling your car masculine?  :signLOL:

I've always called them him or her depending whether they look like a boy-car or a girl-car. For example, My Mum's old Herald was a girl, but her Stag was a boy! Her XR2 was a boy, but her current Modus is deffinately female!

Thanks for the BCS nod. I'm really excited about their products, and really admire their enthusiasm. They deserve to do well, and I like to support new growing British companies when I can. And the PDT/Storm Developments Stage 1 on the old car was brilliant, so It makes sense to keep that going, as they're fairly local and a nice bunch who I trust.

Looking good, I too can highly recommend the BCS System as my mate has just had the power valve system fitted to his Rocco R. Noise when you want it and then quiet and refined when you don't! :happy2:

I prefer the 17" monza's on the mk5 GTI, Think they Suit the Look and size of the car, plus a smoother ride but that's just my opinion, saying that I do have 18" RS6'S on my A4 S-Line but they came as standard,, each to there own ... :popcornsoda:

oH nice car by the way  :happy2:

Thanks Mandy. The Shadow blue was shared between me and my now ex, and she decided to keep it, so i took the opportunity to get one with a sunroof, which I'd been really missing. This one is 100 per cent mine, which gives me full freedom to mod

Thanks mate, I'm going for matt black 18" Pescaras from a fellow member, but if I don't like the colour I'll be powdercoating back to standard. I'm not lowering yet, Concentrating on the under the bonnet stuff via PDT/Storm Developments/BCS.
