Could anyone help me please, I'm looking to get a new pair of trainers from footlocker, they aren't available on the EU site but are on the US site, if I was to order them via the US site, would I receive them without any hassle or would UK tax have to be paid on them, if yes, how would it have be paid?? Or worst case scenario, would I not get the trainers at all and lose my money???

You will have to pay some sort of duty when they arrive into thr country.
If you do a googl search there are sites that will calculate how much duty you will have to pay
Normally you have to pay the duty to the courier before they will deliver them to you

Thanks Baz, I think I'll hang on til they are available over here, they are already costing enough without paying more on top

From personal experience its hit and miss if you get charged duty. Last year i ordered 16 items from the US and Canada ranging in value from from £20 (couple of Geocache containers) to £800 and was only charged duty twice. When buying anything from outside of the EU always assume you will be charged Duty, if you don't - Bonus!
