Hi guys, I've recently developed what seems to be a knocking type noise when turning close to full lock right and accelerating.
Any thoughts what this could be? CV joints? I've also seen this subframe issue with the spacers/bolts from awesomeGTI, is this a potential fix? Cars a 2005 with 50k miles.
Cheers :happy2:

Try the subframe bolt/spacer mod. For under a tenner u can't go wrong. Most likely ur problem.

For the noise on near enough full lock, could be your top mounts?
I had the same problem, fitted the ECS subframe spacer and it made no difference, changed the top mounts and the noise went.

Always go cheapest potential solution first........ And this one you can't go wrong anyway at 30 mins and the price of a burger

I had my top mounts changed and it never solved the problem ur describing but did stop the creaking. Try the bolts first & if it doesn't cure it most likely top mounts

Thanks guys!
Just a little update - its actually not as close to full lock as I thought but it's definitely for right turns only and when I am accelerating. Probably more of a loud clicking noise. Anything change with your thoughts on it?

Exactly the same as mine!
I replaced my drop links and had my bushes checked. Still doing it :sad1:
Top mounts next step!

I had a garage do a test-drive and they are confident that's it's the CV joint that's had it.
They are quoting £130 fitted, that seems quite a bit to me but does that seem reasonable?

Think I paid around that price last August at the stealers!
