Its just an indication to how good your launch was. A tenth saved there makes all the difference.

Only if your terminal speeds are over 110mph. Some ED30 Stage 2+ cars do. If you are k03 then you are safely under 110mph terminals.

well last night i have ruined my car. was bored at home so went and run my tank dry and chucked in 10L of 105 octane.

flicked over to apr 100 map and went for a blast.

the thing was unreal, i was thinking it was going to be quicker but i didnt think that much fast.

my car now feels slow and boring on 99 ron  :sad1:

cant wait for next week to see what it can do on the track

Ha ha.. That'll teach you for using cheating juice..  :signLOL:

What is your full spec again mate? Chasing the 12's is something I know about oh too well.  I got there in the end though on 99ron with just TBE, Intake, Autotech internals and map (full weight and on Michelin PS2's) so if you can master your launch you will be fine pal..  :happy2:
Just gutted I can't make next Sat now  :sad1: Going to Wembly instead as my old man has bought me a ticket for the Olympic football final that I never knew about.. Will be following everyone's results though..  :popcornsoda:

Got 12's written all over it mate..  :happy2:

One bit of advice I will give you is to get the car into 2nd very quickly. I found this the only way to get in the 12's and proved very effective (that and lowering my boost/lifting my timing settings on my SPS). I would leave the line in 1st and as soon as the power would kick in and wheels started to spin I would drop into straight into 2nd (a perk of DSG with not loosing any time/momentum). The car will have more than enough power to haul it through 2nd too..

13.1 @ 111mph :sad1:

conditions were poor yesterday, car gripped rely well but couldn't break through to 12s. IAT's were through the roof.

needs to get some mounts on the car as the stocks are totally shagged now

was good to meet Hurdy had a good chat, that polo looks better every time i look at it lol.

on a side note is there anyway to reduce the response time on the launch control? it seemed like a age from letting off the peddle to the car launching
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: Sunglasses Ron on August 12, 2012, 04:58:35 pm
Don't think there is mate tbh. But it won't affect your ET anyway, so it only becomes a slight issue if you are wanting to race the car next to you.. Even then you can anticipate it slightly...
It is a bit of a PITA though..
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: rich83 on August 12, 2012, 05:02:38 pm
^^^ Exactly. Your times is based on when you set off, not when the lights change. You get a poor reaction time but that shouldn't effect you run.

13 seconds is good. in comparison, my stage 1 ed30 ran 14.14 @ 102 a few months ago. (with a boot full of gear)

Post by: Dp_Ed30 on August 12, 2012, 06:37:19 pm
Gunna give the car a good service as it developed a mild misfire. Get some solid mounts on and head up again in September if anybody wants to join us
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: RobH on August 12, 2012, 06:55:36 pm
Id strongly advise against solid mounts, the bsh or vf will do you fine, unless of course you want your teeth in your lap. what were the conditions yesterday and what was your 60ft times?
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: Dp_Ed30 on August 12, 2012, 07:53:04 pm
Conditions were ok in terms of grip and I got a nice sun tan but it was far to hot for the car, loads of timing pull and IAT's were sky high, still had great fun.

I have decided to keep te car retire it as a DD and throw loads more power at it 450-500bhp is going to be the target.

I keep wondering if a dsg remap is worth it, that LC lag is crazy
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: Hurdy on August 12, 2012, 08:14:23 pm
The DSG map is awesome and really does help times on the strip.
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: Sunglasses Ron on August 12, 2012, 09:19:01 pm
DSG map it very good and well worth having. Whether it will help you on the strip or not is debatable though as the LC delay will still always be there. The changes are very slightly faster/smoother and you can hold on to a gear longer, but that will only benefit you if you are running big power on the top end of the rev range.
I found the DSG map more useful on the road than anything else, but would definitely recommend it either way..

What were your 60ft times mate?
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB
Post by: Dp_Ed30 on August 12, 2012, 10:31:10 pm
60ft times were in the 2secs, quickest was 2.02sec

Think next mod will be a intercooler and throw some WMI on her

Apr don't do a dsg map so do I go revo or r-tec hmm

I would imagine both will give the same benefits - although I'm not that clued up on R-Tec's software, so can't comment too much..

A 2.02 60ft time is very very good mate and without full slicks (assuming you were using track rubber), I doubt very much you will go much/any quicker tbh. My best 60ft time in my Ed30 was 2.27, but that was standard road tyres (PS2's).
I would imagine you are going to need more power/less weight to get in the 12's. Either that or just run on a much cooler day.
Was the car stripped at all?

yeh was using yoko ad08 tyres.

The car was pulling back massive amounts of timing due to heat, at one point we were see -9 pull. i think my stock cooler is letting things down. also the missfire while mild was making boost recovery after gear change a little slower.

Rear seats were out but other than that full weight

like i said still had great fun, willm spend some more £ on bits and go again untill i hit 12s or blow my gear box up :jumping:

Gearbox will be fine I'm sure.. Mine was running stock cooler and always suffered in the summer. I would wait until the temps drop (Oct time) until you run it again. Either that or get a FMIC..

Blimey them 60ft times are awesome. If you can sort the heatsoak out you would have 12's with that easily. Going in October would be better but on the flip side i doubt you'd see  a 2.0 60ft time

His best was 13.2 @ 112mph. Ha problems with ecu causing fuel cut so had to back the power off.

I saw you run a few times. Getting mid-late 13s.

It didn't look like you were using launch control?

What's your best time? I thought stage 2+ should see a 12?
Title: Re: Santapod RYWB

Stage 2+ will run 12's, just probably not with a stock cooler in 25oC+ temps. In the cooler months it can and has been done, but on a hot day a uprated FMIC is in order really..

my friend was running the car swell, we had a few issues with LC not kicking in
